Emerald Resources Unveils High-Grade Drilling Success at Dingo Range and Cambodian Mines

Mining By Maxwell Dee 5 min read

Emerald Resources NL reports robust high-grade gold intercepts from its Dingo Range project in Western Australia and key Cambodian assets, reinforcing resource growth and underground development potential.

  • High-grade gold intercepts deepen Dingo Range resource
  • Memot infill drilling bolsters reserve confidence with standout assays
  • Okvau drilling extends open pit and underground mineralisation
  • New Stables Prospect discovery highlights exploration upside
  • Strong cash position supports ongoing aggressive drilling programs

Dingo Range Delivers Striking High-Grade Results

Emerald Resources NL (ASX:EMR) has reinforced the potential of its Dingo Range Gold Project in Western Australia with a series of compelling high-grade drill results during the March quarter. Notably, the Boundary Deposit yielded a standout intercept of 45 metres at 4.10 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 619 metres downhole, including narrower zones exceeding 10 g/t Au, some extending beyond 18 metres. This drilling tested mineralisation approximately 200 metres below the current open pit resource, hinting at promising underground extensions.

Complementing these results, the Freeman’s Find Deposit infill drilling returned intervals such as 13 metres at 4.46 g/t Au from just 10 metres, and a remarkable 2 metres at 29.12 g/t Au from 33 metres, underscoring the continuity and grade of near-surface mineralisation. The program’s success builds on the 1.41 million ounce resource announced earlier this year, confirming the project's robust geology and exploration upside, including the recently identified Stables Prospect located 18.5 kilometres southeast of Boundary.

The Dingo Range project, spanning 1,110 square kilometres along the Dingo Range greenstone belt, hosts multiple deposits with open pit and underground potential. The recent drilling was co-funded by the Western Australian Department of Mines’ Exploration Incentive Scheme, reflecting government support for the project’s development. Emerald’s ongoing resource update and maiden reserve estimation are expected to incorporate these new results, advancing the project toward feasibility and potential production.

Memot Infill Drilling Confirms Resource Confidence

In Cambodia, Emerald’s Memot Gold Project infill drilling continues to validate the resource base ahead of reserve definition. The close-spaced reverse circulation program, drilled on a 12.5 by 25-metre grid, aims to refine reserve modifiers such as ore loss and dilution. Assays from the quarter include a stunning 2 metres at 50.29 g/t Au from 40 metres and multiple intervals above 10 g/t Au, reinforcing the high-grade nature of the deposit.

Memot’s resource, recently upgraded to 45 million tonnes at 1.2 g/t Au for 1.7 million ounces, remains open along strike and at depth. The mineralisation is hosted within a Cretaceous diorite intrusion with sulphide-rich veins, a style consistent with orogenic gold systems. With over 1,600 assays pending, the company anticipates further resource growth and refinement in upcoming updates.

Okvau Gold Mine Extensional Drilling Strengthens Reserve Outlook

Emerald’s flagship Okvau Gold Mine, commissioned in 2021 and now with over 495,000 ounces poured, continues to benefit from targeted drilling focused on resource infill and extensions. Recent results include 3 metres at 59.04 g/t Au from 347 metres and 22 metres at 1.86 g/t Au from 448 metres, expanding both open pit and underground mineralisation.

Drilling at near-mine prospects such as Okvau North and Granite Hill, located within 10 kilometres of the mine, further supports potential supplementary feed to Okvau’s processing plant. These prospects have been drilled on tight grids and are undergoing resource estimation and preliminary economic assessments. The company plans additional drilling at less tested targets nearby, aiming to sustain and potentially extend mine life.

Operational Strength and ESG Commitments

Emerald maintains a strong balance sheet with approximately A$338 million in cash and a market capitalisation around A$4.3 billion. The company’s experienced management team, led by Managing Director Morgan Hart, has a track record of delivering projects on time and on budget, including the Okvau mine itself.

Emerald is also committed to sustainable operations, targeting carbon-neutral mining in Cambodia and adhering to stringent environmental and social governance standards. This focus aligns with growing investor interest in ESG-compliant mining ventures.

This update builds on recent announcements including the significant resource upgrades at Dingo Range and Memot earlier this year, and the company’s ongoing production momentum at Okvau. The continuous flow of high-grade intercepts and new discoveries like the Stables Prospect underscore Emerald’s exploration momentum and the potential for further resource expansion.

Investors should note that over 1,600 assays remain pending at Memot and more than 1,000 at Okvau, which could materially influence upcoming resource and reserve estimates. The true widths of mineralisation are not always defined, and some historical data have limitations. Nevertheless, Emerald’s methodical drilling and resource development strategy position it well for advancing its portfolio in 2026.

Integrating this drilling success with its operational track record and ESG commitments, Emerald Resources continues to shape a compelling growth story in both Australia and Cambodia, with a clear pathway toward expanding gold production and resource base in the near term.

This follows the group's recent Dingo Range Gold Resource update which laid the groundwork for the current drilling campaigns and resource expansions.

Bottom Line?

Emerald’s latest drilling results signal robust resource growth potential, but pending assays and reserve definitions will be critical to confirm the next phase of development.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will pending assay results from Memot and Okvau influence Emerald’s reserve estimates and mine planning?
  • What is the timeline for converting Dingo Range’s high-grade underground potential into a formal ore reserve?
  • How will Emerald balance aggressive exploration with its carbon-neutral commitments in Cambodia?
