High-Grade Gold-Copper Signals at Klinten

Turnstone Resources (ASX:TSR) has unveiled compelling early-stage exploration results from its Klinten Project in Southern Sweden, with rock chip assays hitting highs of 8.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold alongside notable copper and silver. These standout samples emerged from reconnaissance sampling of historic artisanal mine dumps, confirming the presence of a mineralised system that had previously escaped modern exploration scrutiny.

The assays, taken from quartz veins within diorite intrusions, also returned copper values up to 0.3% and silver up to 36.3 g/t, suggesting an intermediate sulphidation epithermal style of mineralisation. This style is consistent with Turnstone’s thesis that Klinten sits within an emerging copper-gold province in the Dalsland-Varmland region, an area with historical mining activity but limited systematic exploration.

Geological Setting and Strategic Positioning

Located about 20 kilometres west of Arjäng and adjacent to Turnstone’s Glava Project, Klinten covers 1,216 hectares with known occurrences of copper sulphides such as chalcocite and bornite. The project sits within the Mesoproterozoic Svecofennian Belt, characterised by metamorphosed volcano-sedimentary rocks intruded by diorite bodies hosting sheeted quartz veins. This geological framework is increasingly recognised for its potential to host significant copper-gold mineralisation.

Turnstone’s Executive Chair Len Jubber highlighted the strategic value of Klinten, noting it could evolve into a standalone project complementing the nearby Glava and Torsby West assets. The company’s early mover advantage in this underexplored district positions it well to capitalise on any emerging discoveries.

Next Steps: Geophysics and Drill Targeting

Building on these encouraging rock chip results, Turnstone plans to deploy a drone-based magnetic survey over the Klinten licence in May 2026, aiming for a tight 25-metre grid to map magnetic anomalies associated with the diorite intrusions and vein systems. This will be paired with detailed geological mapping, further rock chip sampling, and stream sediment sampling to refine the understanding of the mineralisation controls.

The integrated data will feed into a geological model designed to identify drill targets, with an initial drilling campaign anticipated in the September quarter of 2026. This methodical approach underscores the company’s commitment to systematic exploration rather than speculative drilling.

Positioning Within a Growing European Copper-Gold Portfolio

Klinten adds to Turnstone’s growing copper-gold portfolio in Sweden, which includes the Glava Cu-Au-Ag Project and the Torsby West belt known for structurally controlled Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) mineralisation. The company’s broader strategy also encompasses critical minerals projects in Germany, notably the Ohmgebirge Potash Project with a substantial JORC resource.

While the Klinten results remain preliminary and derived from limited sampling, they validate Turnstone’s recent acquisition strategy and exploration focus in a region ripe for discovery. The company is yet to drill at Klinten, so the scale and continuity of mineralisation remain untested, leaving ample room for future developments to reshape the project’s potential.
