Yandal Resources Extends High-Grade Gold Mineralisation at Arrakis with New RC Drilling Results

New RC Drilling Validates Extension of Arrakis Gold System

Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) has received assay results from the first two extensional reverse circulation (RC) drill holes at its Arrakis gold discovery within the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee (IWB) Gold Project. The results confirm that primary gold mineralisation extends approximately 100 metres southeast along strike from previous intercepts, reinforcing the prospect’s potential for both open-pit and underground mining.

The standout intercepts include 27 metres at 1.2 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 87 metres, featuring higher-grade zones such as 2 metres at 5.1 g/t and 5 metres at 2.7 g/t, as well as 12 metres at 2.3 g/t from 152 metres, including 6 metres at 3.7 g/t. These grades occur within fresh rock, adding weight to the underground exploration target thesis.

These latest results build on a growing body of evidence for a consistent mineralisation style and geometry along the Arrakis structure, which now extends over 1.2 kilometres of strike. The presence of a higher-grade zone greater than 2.0 g/t Au within broader mineralised intercepts, typically located on the eastern hanging wall margin of the mineralised zone, provides a compelling target for deeper drilling.

Structural Complexity and Shear Zone Offset Identified

Geological logging from adjacent drill sections suggests the presence of a north-south striking shear zone, 100 to 200 metres wide, that may offset the Arrakis mineralisation to the north. This interpreted structural complexity has prompted a re-focus of extensional RC drilling to test the offset continuation of the mineralised system to the southeast.

Yandal’s Managing Director Chris Oorschot highlighted the importance of these findings: "We are now also starting to see strong evidence of mineralisation continuity along strike with our first 100m-spaced drill line, and further evidence of mineralisation continuity down dip." He emphasised that the consistent grade and geometry of mineralisation support pursuing both open-pit and underground opportunities at Arrakis.

Diamond Drilling and Broader Exploration Activities

In addition to RC drilling, Yandal has completed three diamond drill holes targeting the continuity of high-grade mineralisation at depth between 250 and 350 metres. Assay results from these diamond holes are expected within 4 to 6 weeks, which could provide critical data on the vertical extent and width of the mineralised zones.

Meanwhile, the diamond rig is being mobilised to the nearby Flushing Meadows deposit, which hosts a 268,000-ounce Mineral Resource. Here, eight diamond holes spaced 200 metres apart will test below the shallow 1.9-kilometre strike of the deposit, complementing ongoing air-core drilling in the broader Flushing Meadows and Geidi Prime target areas.

Yandal’s broader 2026 exploration program remains active, with a planned circa 30,000 metres of combined RC, diamond, and air-core drilling across multiple targets including Arrakis, Flushing Meadows, and the New England Granite area. The company’s recent operational upgrades, including a new exploration camp, underpin this ambitious schedule.

Geological Model and Mineralisation Styles at Arrakis

The Arrakis gold mineralisation sits within a deformed porphyritic dacite intrusive, bracketed by pillow basalts and dolerite units. Two distinct mineralisation styles have been identified: a broad, lower-grade zone within silica-sericite altered dacite and a higher-grade zone associated with intense brittle-ductile deformation and silica-pyrite-arsenopyrite alteration, often forming clast-supported breccias.

Structural observations indicate strong sinistral strike-slip shearing with mineral lineations plunging shallowly northwest. These structural controls are believed to influence the position and thickness of higher-grade mineralisation, which is a key focus for ongoing drilling.

The continuous nature of mineralisation and relatively simple geometry provide increased confidence in the geological model, supporting targeted exploration efforts to delineate the scale and grade distribution of the system.

Continuing Momentum in Yandal’s 2026 Campaign

Yandal anticipates further assay results from six additional RC holes in the coming weeks, alongside diamond drilling outcomes. An infill ground gravity survey will commence shortly to refine litho-structural interpretations and identify new discovery opportunities within the Caladan target area.

The company’s strong cash position and operational momentum set the stage for a busy exploration calendar, with the Arrakis discovery playing a central role.
