High-Profile Defence Appointment Boosts Radar Technology Strategy

Adisyn Ltd (ASX:AI1) has taken a significant step to sharpen its defence technology ambitions by appointing Tamir Zimber, a former Colonel responsible for Israel’s Iron Dome and other key air defence systems, to its newly formed Advisory Board. Currently Senior Director for Air Defence Systems (India) at Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), Zimber brings operational command experience alongside oversight of multi-billion-dollar defence programs, positioning Adisyn to better align its radar absorption technology with end-user needs.

This move comes as Adisyn advances its graphene-based radar signature reduction program, which recently demonstrated up to 20dB reduction in radar detectability in laboratory tests. Such performance could materially enhance the stealth capabilities of UAVs and other defence platforms, a growing priority as radar systems evolve. The company is now pushing towards rapid development and serial production readiness, leveraging its subsidiary 2D Radar Absorbers Ltd and collaboration with Tel Aviv University to commercialise this technology.

Advisory Board to Drive Defence Industry Engagement

The newly established Advisory Board will provide strategic direction for Adisyn’s radar-related initiatives, supporting the translation of technical breakthroughs into operationally relevant solutions. Zimber’s dual experience in operational deployment and international defence program delivery offers Adisyn direct insight into procurement pathways and end-user requirements, which could accelerate partnerships and government engagement globally.

Adisyn Managing Director Arye Kohavi highlighted that Zimber’s appointment is the first step in building an advisory team reflecting the scale of the opportunity. Kohavi emphasised the value of Zimber’s expertise in deploying advanced air defence systems and managing large-scale international programs, which will help target the right opportunities and partners worldwide.

Graphene Radar Absorption Emerges as Strategic Vertical

Adisyn’s radar signature reduction initiative is rapidly emerging alongside its core semiconductor graphene program as a high-value vertical. The company’s recent $14 million capital raise, supported by institutional investors Regal and Meitav, underpinned progress in both semiconductor and radar technologies, including securing exclusive global rights for graphene radar absorption. This financial backing and technological validation provide a solid platform for commercialisation efforts.

Graphene-enhanced composite materials capable of significantly reducing radar signatures could meet increasing demand in the UAV and defence markets, where survivability and stealth are critical design considerations. The company’s collaboration with Tel Aviv University and the establishment of 2D Radar Absorbers Ltd create a structured development pathway towards commercial deployment, with Zimber’s appointment adding a crucial layer of defence sector credibility and access.

Incentivising Expertise with Equity in Subsidiary

As part of his advisory role, Zimber will receive options equivalent to 1% of the issued capital in 2D Radar Absorbers Ltd, Adisyn’s subsidiary focused on radar absorption technology. These options vest over two years, aligning his incentives with the company’s development milestones and ongoing engagement. This arrangement reflects a strategic approach to securing high-level defence expertise without immediate cash outlay.

Adisyn will continue to advance its radar absorption program in parallel with its semiconductor graphene efforts, with the Advisory Board expected to play an ongoing role in refining strategy and pursuing commercial opportunities within this emerging market vertical.

The appointment follows Adisyn’s recent leadership changes and capital injections aimed at accelerating its technology roadmap, including the appointment of Arye Kohavi as Managing Director to spearhead semiconductor ambitions.
