Golden Deeps Advances High-Grade Critical Metals Discovery in Namibia

Mining By Maxwell Dee 4 min read

Golden Deeps Ltd has reported significant progress at its Otavi Critical Metals Belt projects in Namibia, unveiling exceptional high-grade copper, silver, zinc, lead, germanium, and rare metal results from drilling and sampling at the Graceland prospect alongside resource expansions and ongoing exploration.

  • Exceptional high-grade copper-silver-zinc-lead-germanium results at Graceland
  • Over 440 km² tenement holdings in world-class Otavi Critical Metals Belt
  • New Mineral Resource estimates for Khusib Springs, Abenab, Nosib, and Border deposits
  • Advanced exploration with extensive induced polarisation surveys and drilling underway
  • Additional copper-gold-zinc targets in Lachlan Fold Belt, NSW

Graceland Emerges as a ‘Tsumeb-Type’ Critical Metals Hotspot

Golden Deeps Ltd (ASX:GED) is staking a compelling claim in Namibia’s Otavi Critical Metals Belt with spectacular high-grade results from its Graceland prospect. Channel sampling across key gossans has delivered jaw-dropping grades including up to 42.7% copper, 1,353 g/t silver, 201 g/t germanium, and 1,205 g/t antimony. These surface results underpin a mineralised system spanning 2.5 km by 1 km, evoking parallels with the world-renowned Tsumeb deposit just 30 km north.

Initial diamond drilling has confirmed the extraordinary tenor of mineralisation beneath the gossans. Intercepts include 3.22m at 9.4% copper equivalent (4.6% Cu, 5.9% Zn, 80 g/t Ge) and a standout 1.82m at 16.6% CuEq with 34.8% copper and 1,317 g/t antimony. These zones remain open at depth and along strike, with induced polarisation surveys revealing multiple chargeability anomalies that define high-priority sulphide targets analogous to Tsumeb. The company is advancing plans for deeper drilling post-Namibian wet season to test these targets further, building on previous large IP targets and exceptional intersections and intense copper-zinc zones beneath gossans.

Expanding Resource Base Across Multiple Deposits

Golden Deeps is not resting on Graceland alone. The company holds over 440 km² of Exclusive Prospecting Licences in the Otavi Belt, the largest tenure position in this prolific copper province. It has recently updated Mineral Resource estimates for several key deposits. The Khusib Springs deposit now boasts 492,000 tonnes at 116 g/t silver equivalent, including a high-grade indicated portion with 78,000 tonnes at 353 g/t AgEq. The Abenab deposit features 2.3 million tonnes at 1.11% vanadium pentoxide equivalent, while the Nosib deposit has a maiden resource of over 700,000 tonnes at 1.06% copper equivalent, enriched with gallium and antimony credits.

Additionally, the Border zinc-lead deposit holds an inferred resource of 16 million tonnes grading 2.12% combined zinc and lead with 4.8 g/t silver. These resources provide a solid foundation for ongoing development studies, including metallurgical test work aimed at enhancing recovery of critical rare metals like gallium, germanium, and antimony.

Exploration Momentum Supported by Strong Tenure and Cash Position

Golden Deeps’ strategy combines aggressive exploration with resource growth. Beyond the flagship Otavi projects, the company is advancing copper, gold, zinc, and silver targets in the Lachlan Fold Belt of New South Wales, Australia, including the Havilah Copper-Zinc and Tuckers Hill Gold projects. These targets sit in a world-class porphyry district, home to major deposits like Cadia-Ridgeway.

With a market capitalisation of AUD 11.4 million and cash reserves of AUD 4.6 million as of March 2026, Golden Deeps is well-positioned to fund its next phase of exploration and development. Upcoming catalysts include further shallow and deep drilling at Graceland’s gossans and IP targets, sampling of additional ‘Tsumeb-type’ zones such as South Ridge and Kaskara, and metallurgical studies to unlock value from critical and rare metals.

This update follows a series of successful capital raisings and exploration milestones, including a $3.54 million placement in late 2025, which has underpinned the company’s accelerated drilling campaigns and resource expansions in Namibia exceptional copper grades and expanded corridor and spectacular copper-silver hits at Graceland.

Namibia’s Otavi Belt: A Stable Jurisdiction with World-Class Potential

The Otavi Critical Metals Belt is renowned for its rich polymetallic deposits, hosting copper, lead, zinc, silver, germanium, vanadium, gallium, and antimony. Namibia’s stable mining regulations and established infrastructure, coupled with proximity to major mines like Tsumeb, Rössing uranium, and Otjikoto gold, create a favourable environment for resource development. Golden Deeps’ extensive tenure and project portfolio in this world-class terrane position it as a key player in critical metals exploration, a sector gaining increasing strategic importance globally.

Bottom Line?

Golden Deeps is advancing rapidly towards defining a major critical metals discovery in Namibia, with drilling and geophysical surveys at Graceland poised to unlock further high-grade sulphide zones.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will deeper drilling at Graceland confirm the extent of ‘Tsumeb-type’ sulphide mineralisation?
  • How will metallurgical test work impact recoveries of rare metals like gallium and germanium?
  • What are the potential timelines for resource upgrades and development studies across Otavi deposits?
