Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) is powering ahead with its 2026 exploration program, deploying three drilling rigs across its Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project in Western Australia’s prolific Yandal Greenstone Belt. The company’s new 21-person exploration camp and expanded field infrastructure, including significant diesel storage and a core processing yard, underpin a drilling schedule targeting 10,000m of reverse circulation (RC), 5,000m of diamond drilling, and 15,000m of air-core (AC) drilling through June 2026.

This operational scale supports Yandal’s strategy to build on recent successes, notably the Arrakis and Siona gold discoveries, by aggressively testing large-scale targets and resource growth opportunities. The company’s $14.7 million cash balance as of 31 March 2026 provides a solid financial runway for the campaign, which aims to unlock multi-million-ounce potential within a tightly held register supported by strategic shareholders such as Regal Funds and Gold Fields.

These developments extend momentum from earlier in the year when Yandal confirmed a 1.2km continuous mineralised structure at Arrakis, with high-grade intercepts that hint at underground potential. Recent drilling has focused on defining the extent and controls of this system, with assays pending for several diamond holes targeting depth continuity. The company’s multi-rig approach and new camp facilities have been critical to this scale-up, enabling simultaneous drilling across multiple targets and faster core processing. This builds on groundwork laid in 2025 when Arrakis was first delineated through air-core and RC drilling, establishing a robust discovery pipeline.

Extending Mineralisation at Arrakis and New England Granite

At Arrakis, Yandal has reported significant drill results including 27m at 1.2g/t Au with high-grade intervals up to 5.1g/t Au, confirming both broad lower-grade and narrower high-grade zones within a large-scale Caladan fold structure. The discovery remains open to the southeast, with targeted step-out drilling underway to test the system’s full scale. The company is also refining its geological model through infill ground gravity surveys and close-spaced RC and diamond drilling, aiming to delineate high-value mineralisation trends.

Alongside Arrakis, the New England Granite (NEG) area continues to show promise. The Siona discovery, made in late 2024, confirmed the granite complex as a significant mineralised host, with multiple structures like the Siona Shear zone providing targets for further drilling. Recent air-core programs have identified a high-grade Salusa target (6m at 6.3g/t Au), and follow-up work is planned pending heritage clearance on the western margin. These efforts reflect a systematic, geology-driven approach to unlocking new discoveries within the region.

Flushing Meadows and Mt McClure: Resource Growth Focus

Yandal’s Flushing Meadows deposit remains a cornerstone, boasting a 268,000-ounce gold Mineral Resource at 1.1g/t Au, predominantly oxide and transitional material near surface. The deposit is situated on a granted mining lease and strikes over 1.9km, yet fresh rock mineralisation below the current resource remains largely untested. A framework diamond drilling program is underway to assess this fresh rock potential, with eight holes spaced 200m apart planned to refine the geological model and explore for parallel mineralisation.

Meanwhile, the Mt McClure Gold Project holds a 182,000-ounce resource at 1.7g/t Au along a 12km mineralised system on granted leases. Located adjacent to Northern Star’s Orelia operation and near the Bronzewing processing plant, Mt McClure offers both shallow discovery potential and untested high-grade shoots at depth. Recent exploration highlights include steep south-plunging mineralisation beneath historic pits and parallel structures ripe for testing, reinforcing the project’s growth prospects.

Strategic Positioning and Next Steps

Yandal’s exploration strategy is underpinned by a strong technical team led by Managing Director Chris Oorschot and supported by experienced board members and advisors with deep expertise in WA gold exploration. The company maintains a close working relationship with Traditional Owners, ensuring heritage surveys progress alongside drilling activities.

Looking ahead, Yandal plans to continue aggressive drilling at Arrakis to define high-grade zones and test strike extensions, while advancing diamond drilling at Flushing Meadows and resuming RC drilling at Salusa once weather conditions improve. The company also intends to expand air-core drilling between Geidi Prime and Flushing Meadows to identify new large-scale targets, leveraging insights from recent discoveries.
