Resolution Completes 763m in First Three Golden Gate Holes Targeting Gold and Tungsten

Resolution Minerals has completed the first three holes of its 2026 drilling campaign at Golden Gate, Idaho, revealing strong sulphide mineralisation and alteration consistent with known gold and tungsten zones. A second drill rig is now onsite to accelerate the program, which aims to test up to 13,700 metres across 45 holes.

  • Strong sulphide and alteration logged in first three holes
  • Drilling targets gold and tungsten mineralisation south of Golden Gate South
  • Second diamond core rig has arrived to speed up drilling
  • 13,700 metres and 45 holes planned for 2026 campaign
  • Assay results expected in 6 to 8 weeks

Early Drilling Reveals Encouraging Mineralisation South of Golden Gate South

Resolution Minerals Ltd (ASX:RML) has kicked off its 2026 drill campaign at the Golden Gate project in Idaho with three diamond core holes completed, totalling 763 metres. Visual logging of drill core from holes HH-GG26-001C, 002C, and 003C has revealed pervasive sulphide mineralisation, primarily pyrite and arsenopyrite, alongside intense alteration, veining, and brecciation within granitic host rocks. These characteristics closely mirror previously mineralised zones at Golden Gate North and South, suggesting the potential for significant gold and tungsten mineralisation in this newly tested area approximately 500 metres south of last year’s drilling.

"I’m tremendously excited by the style and extent of mineralisation and alteration observed in core of our very first holes," said Bill Breen, Technical Lead Geologist. "This style elsewhere at Golden Gate is associated with significant gold and tungsten mineralisation, and the fact these holes are in a previously undrilled area adds positive weight to these initial results."

The program is advancing rapidly, with a second MP1500 diamond core rig arriving onsite to accelerate drilling. The 2026 campaign aims to complete up to 45 holes totalling 13,700 metres, targeting the scalability and extent of gold and tungsten mineralisation across Golden Gate North and South. This follows the company’s recent mobilises 13,700m drill campaign announcement outlining the ambitious drilling plans.

Targeting Gold and Tungsten in a Historically Mined District

Golden Gate sits within Resolution’s broader Horse Heaven Antimony-Tungsten-Gold-Silver Project, adjacent to Perpetua Resources’ permitted Stibnite Gold Project. The region’s geology features Cretaceous granitic intrusions altered by extensive faulting and shearing, hosting gold, tungsten, antimony, and silver mineralisation. Historical tungsten mining ceased in 1980, but soil anomalies measuring 500 by 600 metres indicate coincident gold and tungsten mineralisation remains open for expansion.

The current drill holes focus on the southern extension of Golden Gate South, with plans to test northern extensions at Golden Gate North later in the program. The presence of strong sulphides and alteration in these early holes aligns with the company’s prior produces tungsten concentrate results demonstrating high-grade tungsten potential from stockpiled material.

Awaiting Assay Results Amid Visual Confirmation of Mineralisation

While visual logging shows promising mineralisation, the company cautions that these observations are not substitutes for laboratory assays. The sulphide percentages, ranging up to 20% arsenopyrite and 10% pyrite in some core intervals, were estimated by experienced geologists familiar with the style but require assay confirmation to determine grades and economic viability.

Assay results for these core sections are expected in 6 to 8 weeks, which will provide crucial data on gold and tungsten grades and help refine the understanding of mineralisation continuity and true widths. The current drill orientation is near perpendicular to the regional mineralisation trend, but further drilling will be needed to fully delineate the deposit geometry.

Resolution’s ongoing drilling momentum follows a recent near-complete stibnite recovery announcement highlighting metallurgical progress at the Horse Heaven project, underscoring the company’s integrated approach to advancing its US critical minerals portfolio.

Bottom Line?

The visual signs of sulphide mineralisation in early holes at Golden Gate are promising but await assay confirmation to validate the scale and grade of gold and tungsten mineralisation.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will assay results confirm the extent and grade of gold and tungsten mineralisation suggested by visual logging?
  • How will the arrival of a second drill rig impact the pace and scope of the 2026 drilling program?
  • What implications might these early drilling results have for potential resource estimation and project economics?
