High-Grade Tungsten Discovery at Blue Prospect

This high-grade mineralisation sits within a broad 2.1 km by 1.8 km soil anomaly enriched in tungsten, bismuth, and molybdenum, a footprint still open in all directions, suggesting substantial upside potential. The presence of primary tungsten minerals scheelite and wolframite was independently confirmed by researchers from the University of Tasmania’s CODES, lending scientific weight to the findings.

The Blue Prospect represents a distinct mineral system separate from Right Resources’ flagship Pilot Project gold target, identified through a systematic regional exploration program applying a Reduced Intrusion-Related Gold System (RIRGS) model developed with CODES. This model anticipates tungsten and bismuth enrichment proximal to intrusion-related hydrothermal systems, consistent with the geochemical signature observed at Blue. The discovery adds a critical minerals dimension to the company’s Tumbarumba tenement portfolio, complementing its ongoing gold and copper exploration efforts.

Geochemical Anomaly and Mineralisation Details

Systematic portable XRF soil sampling delineated a coherent multi-element anomaly stretching 2.1 km by 1.8 km, with tungsten concentrations reaching up to 37 ppm, roughly ten times background levels. This anomaly coincides spatially with high-grade rock chip results, confirming the surface expression of mineralisation. The anomaly’s western extension is covered by Exploration Licence EL9889, granted in April 2026, where further soil sampling is underway to define its full extent.

Rock chip samples, taken from outcrop and subcrop, returned tungsten grades up to 34,600 ppm W (equivalent to 4.3% WO3) and passed rigorous quality assurance and control standards. Multiple tungsten minerals were identified, including scheelite (CaWO4) and wolframite ((Fe,Mn)WO4), the primary tungsten ores, alongside secondary minerals such as tungstite, meymacite, and stolzite, which suggest potential supergene enrichment. The geological setting features a well-developed sheeted quartz vein system hosted within a sheared and altered intrusive sequence, with veins up to 0.4 m thick and arrays extending over tens of metres.

Independent Verification and Strategic Importance

During a February 2026 site visit, CODES researchers independently verified the presence of scheelite and noted traces of bismuthinite, reinforcing the credibility of the discovery. CODES’ ongoing analysis of the broader Tumbarumba district is expected to provide further insights into the geological framework and mineralisation controls at Blue Prospect.

The strategic importance of tungsten is underscored by its classification as a critical mineral by both the Australian Government and the US Department of Interior. With China controlling approximately 85% of global tungsten supply, Australian deposits like Blue Prospect have heightened commercial and geopolitical significance, especially given rising demand from defence, advanced manufacturing, and renewable energy sectors.

Next Steps in Exploration and Development

Right Resources plans to continue systematic soil sampling and geological mapping to better delineate the anomaly and its extensions, including on EL9889. Additional outcrop samples will support early-stage metallurgical testwork to understand tungsten recovery characteristics. Follow-up geophysical surveys and subsurface interpretation aim to identify drill targets, with permitting underway for eventual drill testing of the Blue Prospect system.
