Morella Corporation (ASX:1MC) has reinforced the potential of its Mt Edon Project in Western Australia with new assay results from a recent Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling campaign. The company reported broad zones of rubidium mineralisation across all pegmatite intervals tested at the Sophie Prospect, including standout intercepts like 54 metres grading 0.17% Rb2O and high-grade peaks reaching 0.51% Rb2O.

This drilling success confirms the continuity and scale of the rubidium-bearing pegmatites, a critical step as Morella advances towards its maiden JORC Mineral Resource Estimate. Lithium credits also emerged, with assays up to 0.25% Li2O, enhancing the project's economic prospects.

Drilling Details and Assay Highlights

The February 2026 program comprised 20 holes totaling 1,863 metres, focused on expanding and defining the Sophie pegmatite system previously identified in 2024. All pegmatite intervals returned significant rubidium mineralisation, with key intercepts including:

  • MER036: 54m @ 0.17% Rb2O and 0.097% Li2O
  • MER035: 40m @ 0.23% Rb2O including 1m @ 0.51% Rb2O
  • MER042: 39m @ 0.20% Rb2O including 26m @ 0.24% Rb2O

Samples were assayed by ALS Global Laboratories Perth using a comprehensive 36-element suite, ensuring robust data quality. The drilling was orthogonal to pegmatite orientation, minimising sampling bias, and quality control measures included certified reference materials and duplicates.

Implications for Resource Definition and Development

Managing Director James Brown emphasised that these results bolster confidence in the Sophie Prospect’s scale and continuity, providing a strong foundation for the upcoming resource estimate. The company expects remaining assay results in June to further enhance the dataset.

Morella is also progressing metallurgical testwork with Edith Cowan University to optimise rubidium and lithium extraction pathways. Plans are underway for follow-up drilling to extend mineralisation along strike and at depth, supporting future resource upgrades and development potential.
