Metal Hawk Limited (ASX:MHK) has received final assay results from its reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at the Leinster South Project, confirming the Thylacine south zone as a standout target with significant thicknesses of shallow, high-grade gold mineralisation. Notably, drill hole LSD005 returned 2.3 metres at 15.3 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 28.1 metres, including a narrower interval of 0.82 metres at 29.9 g/t Au. Other highlights include 3 metres at 9.8 g/t Au from 32 metres in hole 26LSRC066, with a 2-metre section grading 14.1 g/t Au.
These results build on the 2025 RC and diamond drilling, establishing the Thylacine south zone as Metal Hawk's highest priority target at Leinster South. At Thylacine east, drilling has identified gold mineralisation at depth, with hole 26LSRC068 intersecting 8 metres at 3.2 g/t Au from 26 metres and another 8 metres at 3.0 g/t from 148 metres. A follow-up hole, 26LSRC070, despite deviating from its planned azimuth due to local structural complexities, returned 4 metres at 1.8 g/t Au from 108 metres and 2 metres at 3.6 g/t Au from 182 metres, including 1 metre at 6.3 g/t Au. This deviation means the shallow, high-grade zone remains inadequately tested, prompting plans for a shallower hole in the upcoming program.
The Tysons prospect also yielded encouraging results, with 2 metres at 1.5 g/t Au from 69 metres and 1 metre at 1.1 g/t Au from 79 metres within a broader mineralised zone. Several anomalous composite samples exceeding 0.2 g/t Au were recorded, with one-metre samples submitted for further analysis to guide future drilling. Metal Hawk intends to continue drilling at Tysons to explore the granite-greenstone contact, a key structural setting for gold mineralisation.
New Structural Targets East of Tysons Highlighted by Gravity Survey
The company’s recently completed ground gravity survey over a 14 square kilometre area east of Tysons has delineated significant structural features within largely covered granitic terrain. The survey identified key east-west trending structures, including the interpreted westward extension of the Wonder Shear, a major structural corridor that hosts the nearby Wonder gold deposits operated by Northern Star Resources.
These deposits are granite-hosted and associated with high-grade gold mineralisation along major shear zones, making the analogous structural corridor on Metal Hawk’s tenure a compelling new exploration target.
