Discovery Alaska Limited (ASX:DAF) has delivered a compelling boost to its Boulder Creek Gold-Silver Project in Idaho with rock samples returning standout assay results, including an eye-catching 767 grams per tonne silver (approximately 24.6 ounces per ton). Alongside this, gold assays peaked at 11.67 grams per tonne, reinforcing the project's promise for high-grade precious metal mineralisation.

The samples were collected near historical drill sites explored by Nerco, Inc. in the mid-1980s, which previously flagged anomalous zones but lacked modern follow-up. The new assay results confirm the prospectivity of these targets for epithermal vein-hosted and disseminated gold-silver deposits, a style known for yielding economic mineralisation in similar geological settings.

Strategic Exploration Plans Underway

Discovery Alaska's Idaho-based geological consultants have recently completed a field inspection, verifying the condition of access roads and historic drill pads, which remain suitable for upcoming operations. The company is advancing exploration planning and securing necessary approvals to commence an initial drilling campaign during the northern hemisphere summer. This program aims to test the Nerco-identified anomalous zones and follow up on the high-grade rock sample results.

Director Jerko Zuvela expressed enthusiasm about the findings, noting the "fantastic 767g/t silver result" as a key motivator to begin drilling. The company’s approach appears methodical, combining historical data with fresh sampling to refine drill targets.

Project Tenure and Historical Context

Boulder Creek comprises 20 Bureau of Land Management (BLM) claims, with Discovery Alaska holding a 100% interest and an option to acquire an additional Idaho State Lease. The project area, situated roughly 90 kilometres southwest of Boise near the historic mining town of Silver City, has seen limited modern exploration, elevating the significance of these new results.

The company’s previous announcements detailed the acquisition process and claim expansions, supported by a recent private placement that raised $354,000 to fund exploration activities. This financial backing aligns with the company’s intent to systematically advance Boulder Creek, leveraging both historical insights and contemporary sampling.

Assay Quality and Reporting Transparency

The assays were conducted by reputable laboratories in Idaho and Nevada using standard fire assay and multi-element ICP techniques. While no formal quality assurance or quality control protocols were reported, the sampling methods and laboratory procedures are consistent with industry norms for early-stage exploration. The limited sample count and spacing preclude resource estimation at this stage but provide a clear directional signal for targeted drilling.
