Eminence Awards Eco Sondagem Up to 2,000m Drilling at Campo Grande Rare Earths Project
Eminence Minerals has contracted Eco Sondagem for a 2,000-metre auger drilling campaign targeting rare earth corridors adjacent to Brazilian Rare Earths’ Sulista district in Bahia, Brazil, marking a key step toward resource definition.
- 2,000m auger drilling contract awarded
- Targets three priority rare earth corridors
- Drilling to commence June 2026
- Supports future JORC Mineral Resource estimates
- Project adjacent to Brazilian Rare Earths’ tenure
Eminence Advances Campo Grande with Major Drilling Contract
Eminence Minerals (ASX:EMA) has taken a decisive step in advancing its Campo Grande Rare Earth Project in Bahia, Brazil, by awarding a drilling contract to Eco Sondagem for up to 2,000 metres of auger drilling. The program, scheduled to commence in June 2026, aims to systematically test high-priority ionic clay and lateritic rare earth targets across three key corridors adjoining Brazilian Rare Earths’ (ASX:BRE) Sulista district.
Targeting Extensions of Proven Rare Earth Corridors
The drilling campaign will focus on 72 auger holes spaced at 200m intervals to evaluate geological continuity and underpin future JORC-compliant Mineral Resource estimates. The targeted corridors, Sulista, Monte Alto, and Amargosa, are interpreted extensions of BRE’s tenure, which has delivered impressive high-grade results including up to 45.7% total rare earth oxides (TREO). Eminence’s own reconnaissance sampling has returned up to 17,346 ppm TREO, indicating promising mineralisation potential within its 100% owned 1,755 km² project area.
Eco Sondagem Selected for Local Expertise and Technical Capability
Eco Sondagem, a seasoned Brazilian drilling contractor with extensive experience across mineral commodities and geological environments, was chosen following a rigorous tender process. The evaluation considered technical expertise in rare earth element drilling, safety standards, productivity guarantees, and local knowledge. This partnership is expected to streamline operations and ensure efficient delivery of exploration results.
Broader Exploration and Regional Targeting
Beyond the primary corridors, Eminence has identified six additional regional scout drilling targets to explore newly interpreted clay alteration and rare earth anomalies. These will be supported by surface sampling to refine prioritisation across the broader Campo Grande Project. The campaign leverages advanced geological interpretation, airborne radiometric data, Sentinel-2 multispectral imagery, and alteration mapping to optimise target selection.
Strategic Positioning in a Growing Rare Earth Province
Campo Grande lies within the Rocha da Rocha Rare Earth Province, a rapidly emerging district in Bahia that has attracted significant attention due to its high-grade deposits. Eminence’s CEO Anthony Hills highlighted the drilling contract award as a milestone transitioning the project from target generation to active drill testing. While proximity to Brazilian Rare Earths’ tenure provides a favourable geological framework, Eminence cautions that mineralisation may vary and results will be needed to confirm potential.
Bottom Line?
The drilling contract sets the stage for tangible progress at Campo Grande, but assay results will be crucial to validate the project’s rare earth potential amid a competitive regional landscape.
Questions in the middle?
- Will the auger drilling confirm continuity of rare earth mineralisation across the priority corridors?
- How will assay results compare to the high-grade grades reported by neighbouring Brazilian Rare Earths?
- What impact will the upcoming results have on Eminence’s plans for resource estimation and project development?
