MB Gold Extends High-Grade Gold Zones at Twin Veins with Phase 1 Drilling Complete

Mining By Maxwell Dee 4 min read

MB Gold has reported further encouraging gold assay results from its maiden drilling at the Twin Veins Prospect, confirming continuity of high-grade shoots and setting the stage for a 6,000m Phase 2 program.

  • New assays include 8m at 2.5g/t Au and 5m at 1.25g/t Au
  • Phase 1 drilling completed with 6,369m drilled
  • Mineralisation remains open at depth with multiple shoot targets
  • 31 drill hole assays pending, results expected soon
  • LIDAR survey completed; hyperspectral survey planned

Encouraging Gold Intercepts Confirm Continuity at Twin Veins

MB Gold Limited (ASX:MBG) has released further assay results from its inaugural reverse circulation drilling campaign at the Twin Veins Prospect, part of the Marble Bar Gold Project in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. The latest batch includes a standout 8 metres at 2.5 grams per tonne gold from 48 metres in hole 26MBRC015, alongside 5 metres at 1.25 grams per tonne from 82 metres in 26MBRC019. These results build on previously reported intercepts, notably a 20-metre zone averaging 1.74 grams per tonne including 7 metres at 4.06 grams per tonne, reinforcing the prospect’s high-grade potential.

Phase 1 Drilling Wraps Up With Strong Geological Insights

The company has now completed its Phase 1 drilling program, delivering a total of 6,369 metres across Twin Veins and the nearby Douglas Find Prospect. Early interpretations suggest the presence of multiple high-grade "shoots" within the mineralised system, with mineralisation remaining open at depth and along strike. The drilling was conducted on a nominal 40 by 40-metre grid, tightening to 20 metres in some areas to refine structural understanding. While true widths of mineralisation are yet to be confirmed, the angled drill holes were designed to intersect steeply dipping veins as close to perpendicular as possible.

Importantly, assays remain outstanding for 31 drill holes from both Twin Veins and Douglas Find, with results expected in the coming weeks. This pending data will be critical for refining the geological model and guiding the upcoming Phase 2 program, which is planned to deliver an additional 6,000 metres of drilling aimed at extending and testing these high-grade shoots.

Advanced Survey Techniques to Support Exploration and Modelling

To complement the drilling, MB Gold has completed a high-resolution drone LIDAR survey covering key prospects including Twin Veins, Douglas Find, Razorback, and Murphy Well. This survey provides detailed topography and orthophotography, enhancing field mapping accuracy, drill planning, and future resource modelling efforts. Furthermore, the company plans to conduct a project-wide airborne hyperspectral survey in the coming months. This advanced geophysical technique aims to map alteration minerals associated with gold mineralisation, potentially unlocking new target zones across the 12-kilometre strike length of the Marble Bar Gold Project.

Strategic Location and Historical Context

The Marble Bar Gold Project is strategically positioned northeast of Marble Bar town, within a geologically significant corridor along the margin of the Mt Edgar Batholith. The project benefits from established infrastructure, including proximity to sealed roads and nearby mining operations. Historical exploration by BCI Minerals and Global Lithium Resources has identified gold-bearing trends and delivered encouraging drill results, setting a solid foundation for MB Gold’s current activities under a mineral rights agreement.

CEO Logan Barber highlighted the team’s progress, stating, "The team has executed the Phase 1 drill program safely and efficiently. We are excited by what we are seeing with the second batch of assay results returning further positive results. Our understanding of the plunge of higher-grade zones has increased, and we are starting to identify the potential for multiple shoots extending to depth, which will be targeted as part of the Phase 2 drill program."

With assay results pending and Phase 2 drilling on the horizon, MB Gold is positioning itself to advance the Marble Bar Gold Project’s exploration potential significantly.

Bottom Line?

MB Gold’s expanding high-grade shoots at Twin Veins and upcoming Phase 2 drilling position the project for a clearer resource picture, though pending assays will be pivotal.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will the pending assays confirm the continuity and grade of the high-grade shoots at Twin Veins?
  • How will the hyperspectral survey reshape exploration targeting across the broader Marble Bar Gold Project?
  • What impact will Phase 2 drilling have on defining a maiden resource and attracting development interest?
