The survey, flown at 30 metres altitude over 2,172 line kilometres in March 2026, identified structurally complex zones associated with elevated thorium signatures, an important proxy for heavy rare earth mineralisation in monazite and xenotime minerals.
The geophysical data highlights a strong correlation between these thorium-rich zones and the Pinto Gneiss, a Proterozoic high-grade metamorphic unit known for hosting accessory HREE-bearing minerals. Structural complexity arises from two major fault trends: the older Pinto Mountain Fault aligned at 286°, linked to the San Andreas Fault Zone, and a younger, more intense set trending at 330°, which has deformed primary fabrics and created prospective structural traps.
