Geophysical Survey Reveals Structural Hotspots for HREE

Dateline Resources (ASX:DTR) has completed a high-resolution helicopter-borne magnetic and radiometric survey over its Music Valley Heavy Rare Earth Element (HREE) Project in California, delivering a detailed structural interpretation that sharpens the focus of exploration. The survey, flown at 30 metres altitude over 2,172 line kilometres in March 2026, identified structurally complex zones associated with elevated thorium signatures, an important proxy for heavy rare earth mineralisation in monazite and xenotime minerals.

The geophysical data highlights a strong correlation between these thorium-rich zones and the Pinto Gneiss, a Proterozoic high-grade metamorphic unit known for hosting accessory HREE-bearing minerals. Structural complexity arises from two major fault trends: the older Pinto Mountain Fault aligned at 286°, linked to the San Andreas Fault Zone, and a younger, more intense set trending at 330°, which has deformed primary fabrics and created prospective structural traps.

Three Priority Prospects Outside Litigation-Affected Claims

Crucially, Dateline has identified three priority prospect areas for follow-up work, all situated outside the 252 claims currently embroiled in litigation. These targets include zones with anomalous thorium concentrations on the acquired Fermi claims and other staked claims free of legal encumbrances, allowing exploration to proceed unimpeded.

Managing Director Stephen Baghdadi emphasised the significance of these findings: "Music Valley has always had the ingredients of a significant heavy rare earth district. What these surveys have done is show us where those ingredients come together." He noted that the combination of elevated thorium, favourable geology, and structural complexity provides a compelling basis to concentrate exploration efforts.

Ground Truthing and Sampling Underway to Refine Drill Targets

Dateline's HREE and structural geology consultants, Tony Mariano Jr and Russell Mason, are currently conducting ground truth mapping to validate the geophysical anomalies. This fieldwork will guide a larger-scale rock chip sampling program aimed at refining drill targets. The company expects to release further information on these prospects within the next two weeks.

The approach reflects a strategic shift from broad reconnaissance to a focused ‘stacked evidence’ methodology, integrating geophysics, geology, and geochemistry to identify the most prospective zones for heavy rare earth mineralisation. This precision targeting could accelerate the path to drilling and resource definition.

Exploration Positioned Amidst Regional Rare Earth Activity

Music Valley lies near the Mountain Pass rare earth mine, the largest in the US, and complements Dateline's broader North American portfolio, which includes the Colosseum Gold-HREE Project. The company’s recent Bankable Feasibility Study for Colosseum confirmed robust economics, underscoring the strategic value of its rare earth assets in California’s Walker Lane Trend.

The geophysical survey’s innovative helicopter-borne system, employing a cesium vapor magnetometer and a high-sensitivity gamma spectrometer, allowed for low-altitude, high-resolution data collection. This technical edge enhances the reliability of the structural interpretations and thorium anomaly mapping, providing a solid foundation for subsequent exploration phases.
