EdenCrete® Trials Show Tangible Performance and Cost Benefits

Eden Innovations Ltd (ASX:EDE) has revealed robust early results from its EdenCrete®Pz7 carbon nanotube-enhanced concrete additive trials in India, focusing on the Delhi region. The trials, conducted with independent ready-mix concrete companies, high-rise developers, and the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), demonstrate meaningful improvements in key concrete properties such as flexural strength and abrasion resistance, alongside significant cost reductions.

Notably, Eden reported a 28% reduction in abrasion in road concrete mixes at low additive dosages, a critical factor for durability in heavy traffic conditions. High-strength concrete mixes (50 MPa and above) used in high-rise construction showed 10% to 20% extra strength while simultaneously reducing costs by replacing expensive Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and micro silica with supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) like fly ash and slag.

India’s Concrete Market: A Rapidly Expanding Opportunity

India’s concrete and construction markets have surged over the past five years, positioning the country as the world’s second-largest construction growth market after China and ahead of the USA. Government infrastructure spending has hit a record ₹12.20 lakh crore (approximately USD135 billion) for FY2026–27, fueling demand for concrete across residential, commercial, and infrastructure sectors.

The Delhi area, in particular, is witnessing a boom in high-rise residential developments, which require high-strength concrete solutions. Concurrently, India continues to build around 4 kilometres of new concrete highways daily, emphasizing the need for durable, cost-effective concrete mixes. Partnerships with Key Indian Industry Players and Government

The collaboration with CRRI, a premier Indian government research agency, is especially significant. CRRI focuses on sustainable concrete technologies tailored to India’s extreme climatic conditions and heavy traffic loads. Trials with CRRI involve M60 grade concrete for bridge overlays and ultra-thin white topping repairs, as well as M40 pavement quality concrete for new roads.

Positive outcomes from these trials could open substantial sales channels for EdenCrete® in government infrastructure projects, a sector supported by national guidelines recommending 15%-30% fly ash and 50%-70% slag replacement in concrete mixes. This dovetails with Eden’s product benefits, which include reducing CO2 footprints by lowering OPC usage.

Scaling Up to Meet Growing Demand

Given the encouraging trial results and the vast size of the Indian concrete market, Eden plans to expand its trials beyond Delhi to other regions with significant high-rise construction activity.
