Larvotto Drilling Confirms High-Grade Continuity at Midas Lode
Larvotto Resources has delivered compelling high-grade drill results from the Midas Lode at its Hillgrove project, reinforcing a substantial near-surface Exploration Target and underpinning plans for a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate.
- BLK118 hits 8m at 16.11g/t AuEq including 4.5m at 27.78g/t AuEq
- BLK117 intercepts 29.7m at 2.19g/t AuEq with strong vertical continuity
- Supports Midas Exploration Target of 3.95Mt at 5.16g/t AuEq (656,000 oz)
- Midas mineralisation accessible from existing underground workings
- Drilling ongoing with two rigs aiming for maiden resource estimate
High-Grade Drilling Reinforces Midas Lode Potential
Larvotto Resources (ASX:LRV) has unveiled further high-grade drilling results from the Midas Lode within its 100%-owned Hillgrove Antimony-Gold Project in New South Wales, delivering some of the best intersections recorded at the site to date. The standout intercept came from drill hole BLK118, which returned 8 metres at 16.11 grams per tonne gold equivalent (AuEq), including a blistering 4.5 metres at 27.78 g/t AuEq. This marks the highest-grade gold-antimony intersection so far reported from Midas, underscoring the shoot-like nature of mineralisation that Larvotto is chasing.
Complementing this, BLK117 returned a broad zone of 29.7 metres at 2.19 g/t AuEq, including 10 metres at 4.11 g/t AuEq, demonstrating not only high-grade pockets but also strong vertical continuity from near surface. These results bolster the geological interpretation of the Midas Lode as a coherent, mineralised system with both wide envelopes and high-grade shoots.
Exploration Target Backed by New Data
These drilling results provide tangible support for Larvotto’s recently announced Midas Exploration Target of 3.95 million tonnes at 5.16 g/t AuEq, equating to approximately 656,000 gold equivalent ounces. Notably, the assays from BLK117 and BLK118 were not available when the Exploration Target was first released on 23 June 2026, meaning these new data points add confidence and suggest the potential for even better grades and widths than initially modelled.
The Midas Lode is interpreted as a northern extension of the nearby Syndicate orebody, separated by regional structures but showing similar mineralisation styles and grades. The mineralised trend extends roughly 900 metres along strike and to depths of 560 metres below surface, remaining open both along strike and at depth. Larvotto’s Managing Director Ron Heeks highlighted that the mineralisation is "easily accessible along strike from the current area of active mining," a key factor that could accelerate its inclusion into the mine schedule and potentially extend Hillgrove’s mine life beyond current projections.
Underground Access and Systematic Resource Definition
One of the strategic advantages of Midas is its direct accessibility from existing underground development, specifically at the 1650RL level along Blacklode. This proximity allows Larvotto to consider near-term mining scenarios without the need for extensive new development drives. Two diamond drill rigs are currently active on site, infilling and extending the zone to the north, with assay results pending for holes BLK119 and BLK120 that target extensions towards the Blacklode and Endurance structures.
Planning is underway for a systematic drill program involving approximately 45 holes totaling 15,000 metres, designed to provide the density and coverage needed for a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate. The program will test both strike and depth extensions from surface and underground positions, with the company also evaluating the potential to extend a current development drive to facilitate underground drilling.
Broader Hillgrove Exploration and Tungsten Potential
Larvotto’s resource growth ambitions at Hillgrove are not limited to Midas. Four diamond rigs operate across multiple mining centres, including Clarks Gully where follow-up drilling is underway after high-grade results in hole CLG126. The company is also reviewing tungsten potential across the Hillgrove field, supported by recent metallurgical test work showing promising tungsten recoveries of around 90%. Regulatory approvals are in place for drilling at historical gold-antimony-tungsten workings at Curry’s Block, further expanding the project’s multi-metal scope.
These developments come as Larvotto prepares for the commissioning of its Hillgrove operation, with production expected to start in August 2026. The ongoing exploration success at Midas and other targets enhances the project’s resource base and could influence future mine planning and economics.
Bottom Line?
Larvotto’s high-grade Midas drilling results reinforce a robust Exploration Target and set the stage for a maiden resource estimate, with underground access potentially accelerating development timelines.
