Strategic Expansion into Thailand's IVF Sector
Memphasys Limited (ASX:MEM) has taken a significant step in its global commercialisation push by securing an exclusive three-year distribution agreement with IVF Envimed Co., Ltd. for its Felix™ sperm separation system in Thailand. The deal, valued at a minimum of approximately A$430,500, targets a robust assisted reproductive technology (ART) market comprising 110 registered IVF clinics conducting between 20,000 and 30,000 cycles annually.
The Felix™ system, designed to enhance sperm quality through a patented bio separation technology, is positioned to meet the strong demand in Thailand, where over 95% of IVF cycles involve intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), a procedure that benefits from advanced sperm selection devices.
Pre-Launch Momentum and Regulatory Pathway
IVF Envimed has already placed an initial order for 100 Felix™ cartridges and three consoles to support pre-launch marketing and clinical education efforts. However, revenue recognition will only commence following Thai FDA regulatory approval, which Memphasys anticipates within three to six months. IVF Envimed is responsible for securing this approval, leveraging its extensive experience and established relationships with all Thai IVF clinics.
The distributor operates a dedicated infrastructure including a six-person sales team, cold chain logistics, and clinical education programs in partnership with leading medical schools, providing a ready-made platform for Felix™ adoption across Thailand's IVF network.
Building a Diversified South-East Asian Revenue Base
This agreement complements Memphasys' recent exclusive deal with TMSC Viet Nam Medical Technology Company Limited, which carries a minimum contracted value of A$530,200 over two years. Together, these partnerships lift Memphasys' contracted South-East Asian revenue base to around A$1.0 million, reflecting a deliberate strategy to diversify geographically within the region.
Memphasys' total contracted Felix™ sales for FY2026 have now reached approximately A$3.0 million, comfortably surpassing its earlier target of A$2.0 million. The company’s growing international footprint also spans Australia, Europe, the UK, the Middle East and North Africa, India, and Japan, underscoring the global ambition behind Felix™.
Partner Expertise and Market Readiness
IVF Envimed brings over 15 years of exclusive distribution experience in Thailand’s reproductive medicine sector, currently supplying leading IVF consumables to all registered clinics nationwide. Its clinical engagement and technical support infrastructure position Felix™ for rapid market penetration once regulatory hurdles are cleared.
Marjan Mikel, Memphasys’ Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Commercialisation Committee, highlighted the significance of the Thailand deal as a milestone in executing the company’s global growth strategy. Meanwhile, IVF Envimed’s Managing Director, Adul Vangtal, expressed confidence that Felix™ will improve clinical outcomes and workflow efficiencies across Thailand’s IVF laboratories.
Bottom Line?
Memphasys’ Thailand agreement marks a clear advance in its international rollout, but revenue hinges on timely Thai FDA approval and successful market penetration.
Questions in the middle?
- Will Thai FDA approval proceed within the anticipated three to six months?
- How quickly can Felix™ gain traction across Thailand’s competitive IVF clinics?
