Talga Group has begun commercial deliveries of its Talnode®-C battery anode to Nyobolt, marking a key revenue milestone and advancing its European supply ambitions. The 3,000-tonne offtake deal sets the stage for Talga's planned commercial-scale anode plant, with further customer negotiations underway.

  • First commercial Talnode-C shipment delivered to Nyobolt
  • 3,000-tonne offtake linked to planned 2027 commercial plant
  • Nyobolt valued at US$1 billion for ultra-fast charging batteries
  • Talga advancing multiple customer negotiations globally
  • Vittangi Anode Project financing supported by growing demand

Commercial Delivery Marks Revenue Transition

Battery materials specialist Talga Group Ltd (ASX:TLG) has crossed a significant commercial threshold by commencing sales of its flagship Talnode®-C battery graphite anode to Nyobolt. The first shipment, dispatched from Talga’s EVA demonstration plant in Luleå, Sweden, follows successful customer qualification and audits, transitioning the relationship from trial volumes to ongoing revenue generation.

This delivery is the initial tranche of a binding offtake agreement signed in May 2025, covering 3,000 tonnes of Talnode-C. The remainder of this volume is slated for supply from Talga’s planned commercial-scale anode plant in Luleå, with construction targeted for 2027 pending a final investment decision. This progression underscores Talga’s move from pilot production towards scalable commercial operations.

Nyobolt’s Ultra-Fast Charging Battery Systems

Nyobolt, recently valued at US$1 billion following a Series C capital raise, utilises Talnode-C as a critical feedstock in its ultra-fast-charging battery technology. Their batteries enable vehicles to charge in under five minutes, approximately twice the speed of the fastest production EVs currently on the market. This performance edge is particularly relevant to Nyobolt’s customers such as Scania, which supports deployment in heavy-duty commercial vehicles and mining equipment, and Symbotic, which integrates AI-enabled autonomous warehouse robots.

These applications demand rapid charging and high power density to maximise operational uptime and productivity, positioning Talnode-C’s low internal resistance and ultra-high crystallinity as a strong fit. The product also benefits from secure, FEOC-free European production, aligning with supply chain diversification trends.

Expanding Market Reach and Customer Pipeline

Beyond Nyobolt, Talga is actively progressing advanced negotiations with additional customers across Europe, Japan, and North America. These engagements span battery manufacturers and trading houses, alongside government and funding institutions increasingly focused on supply chain resilience and high-performance product demand.

The company highlights growth opportunities in sectors such as commercial and industrial drones, hybrid and heavy-duty vehicles, defence hardware including autonomous vehicles, robotics, and AI data centre power solutions. These segments require reliable, high-power energy storage coupled with ultra-rapid charging capabilities, which Talnode-C is designed to deliver.

Such momentum in commercial discussions is expected to underpin Talga’s financing efforts and the eventual construction of its Vittangi Anode Project, a 5,000-tonne-per-annum mine-to-anode facility. The project has seen steady progress, including record production at the EVA plant earlier this year and ongoing FEED studies.

Bottom Line?

Talga’s shift from qualification to revenue sales with Nyobolt and a growing customer pipeline signal a pivotal step toward commercial-scale production, though final investment decisions and financing remain key upcoming hurdles.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will Talga secure final investment approval for the Vittangi Anode Project by 2027?
  • How quickly can Talga convert advanced negotiations into binding offtake agreements?
  • What impact will Nyobolt’s ultra-fast charging battery adoption have on Talga’s volume growth?
