Flynn Gold Validates Extensive High-Grade Silver System at Silver King
Flynn Gold’s first modern drilling at the Silver King Trend in Tasmania confirms extensive high-grade silver-lead-zinc mineralisation, underpinning a promising district-scale exploration model.
- All five maiden drill holes intersect high-grade silver-lead-zinc mineralisation
- Exceptional intercepts include 0.4m at 3,087.7g/t silver equivalent
- Geological model confirms structurally controlled vein systems with multiple shoots
- Regional sampling reveals multiple mineralised vein trends beyond Silver King
- Next phase involves detailed modelling, mapping, and drill target generation
Maiden Drilling Confirms Exceptional Silver-Lead-Zinc Mineralisation
Flynn Gold Limited (ASX:FG1) has delivered a strong validation of its Silver King Trend at the Henty Silver-Lead-Zinc Project in western Tasmania, with all five maiden diamond drill holes intersecting significant high-grade mineralisation. The standout intercept, from hole SKDD001, returned a blistering 0.4 metres grading 3,087.7 grams per tonne silver equivalent (g/t AgEq), including 2,450g/t silver, 29.5% lead, and 9% zinc from 101.2 metres downhole. This confirms the presence of a robust silver-rich system beneath historical workings, the first modern drilling along this trend in over 80 years.
The drilling program targeted a 1.6-kilometre mineralised corridor encompassing the Silver King and South King prospects. Each hole intersected structurally controlled silver-lead-zinc veins, supporting an emerging geological model of multiple high-grade shoots extending along strike and at depth. Notably, SKDD003 at South King intersected multiple high-grade veins within a broader 3.8-metre mineralised zone, indicating a wider mineral system than previously documented.
District-Scale Potential Revealed Through Regional Exploration
Flynn Gold’s exploration extends beyond Silver King, with ongoing compilation of historical data and new geological mapping identifying multiple parallel mineralised vein trends across the North Henty Project. Rock chip sampling from historical workings and mullock dumps returned 44 samples exceeding 311g/t AgEq, including 13 above 933g/t AgEq, underscoring the widespread nature of high-grade mineralisation across the district.
Historical drilling at adjacent prospects such as Maxim and Austral, though limited, intersected significant silver-lead-zinc mineralisation that has yet to be followed up. For example, hole ZT-82N-1 at Maxim returned 1 metre at 1,293g/t AgEq including 600g/t silver and 44.7% lead, highlighting the untapped potential of these parallel systems. Flynn’s integrated approach combining drilling, mapping, and sampling points to a multi-kilometre network of mineralised veins ripe for systematic exploration.
Infrastructure and Strategic Location Support Development Prospects
The Henty Project benefits from excellent infrastructure, including sealed road access, grid power, and proximity to the mining centre of Zeehan. This logistical advantage enhances the feasibility of advancing discoveries towards development, should exploration continue to deliver positive results. The project’s geological setting within the prolific Zeehan mineral field further aligns it with historically productive silver-lead-zinc districts.
Next Steps Focus on Model Refinement and Target Generation
Flynn Gold is integrating the maiden drilling results with ongoing geological and structural modelling, surface geochemistry, and historical mining data to refine its understanding of the Silver King system. The company plans follow-up mapping and sampling of parallel vein trends and aims to generate high-priority drill targets for subsequent programs. This methodical approach is designed to unlock the full exploration upside across the largely untested Silver King Trend and broader North Henty district.
Managing Director Neil Marston emphasised that the drilling program achieved its objectives by confirming high-grade mineralisation and significantly enhancing the geological framework. The identification of multiple high-priority targets along the trend, many untested by modern drilling, provides a compelling platform for future exploration phases.
Bottom Line?
Flynn Gold’s maiden drilling success at Silver King sets a solid foundation for expanding high-grade silver-lead-zinc discoveries across a district-scale system.
Questions in the middle?
- How will metallurgical testwork refine recoveries and economic potential of the Silver King mineralisation?
- What are the timelines and scale for follow-up drilling on the newly prioritised vein trends?
- Could the broader North Henty Project host a resource comparable to other major Tasmanian silver districts?
