Diamond Drilling Validates Depth Continuity at Arrakis
Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) has released assay results from its recent diamond drilling program at the Arrakis gold discovery within the Ironstone Well-Barwidgee (IWB) Gold Project, confirming the continuity of high-grade gold mineralisation well below surface. The drilling, comprising four diamond holes with reverse circulation (RC) pre-collars, intercepted significant gold grades at depths exceeding 240m, with standout results including 4.1m at 5.7g/t Au from 301.7m and 5.0m at 3.1g/t Au from 348m.
The assays validate a steep plunging high-grade domain stretching approximately 100-150m in strike between 6050mN and 6200mN, reinforcing the discovery’s robust nature. Notably, mineralisation remains open at depth, particularly below a crosscutting shear zone identified in earlier drilling, highlighting clear targets for deeper exploration.

Managing Director Chris Oorschot emphasised the geological implications of the results, noting that the drilling has successfully delineated both high-grade and broader low-grade mineralisation below a shallow-dipping shear zone. Yandal plans to publish an exploration target for Arrakis in late July, informed by the diamond drilling results and forthcoming assays from extensional RC drilling to the southeast. This target will quantify the potential scale of the mineralised system, which currently extends over a strike length of more than 1.3km.
Alongside Arrakis, the company continues to advance exploration at the Flushing Meadows deposit, which holds a JORC resource of 268,000 ounces at 1.1g/t Au. Diamond core assays from recent holes are awaited, and air-core drilling is underway across Flushing Meadows and the adjacent Giedi Prime target area. Similarly, drilling at the New England Granite target, home to the high-grade Siona Prospect, is set to resume, with assay results from recent RC programs expected soon.
Ground Gravity Survey Supports Structural Interpretation
Complementing the drilling, Yandal has updated its ground gravity survey data across the IWB project, enhancing stratigraphic and structural models around Arrakis and Flushing Meadows. This geophysical work underpins the identification of new early-stage exploration targets, providing further avenues to expand the project’s gold resource base.
Maintaining a strong cash position, Yandal is set for a busy second half of 2026, with a strategic review scheduled for late July to update its exploration schedule.
