ClearVue’s Gen 3 Vision Glass Secures Triple Global Certifications Validating Durability and Safety

Technology By Sophie Babbage 3 min read

ClearVue Technologies has earned three international certifications for its Gen 3 Vision Glass, confirming its photovoltaic performance, safety, and durability across multiple product variants.

  • Gen 3 Vision Glass achieves IECEE CB, CE, and TÜV MARK Safety certifications
  • Validation covers power outputs from 9W to 336W with TOPCon cells
  • Certifications reflect design for over 25 years of real-world performance
  • Supports ClearVue’s commercial deployment in global construction markets
  • Independent testing included comprehensive electrical, environmental, and mechanical assessments

Triple Certification Confirms Global Market Readiness

ClearVue Technologies Limited (ASX:CPV) has reached a significant milestone with its Gen 3 Vision Glass securing three top-tier international certifications: IECEE CB, CE, and TÜV MARK Safety. These endorsements validate the product’s photovoltaic performance, electrical safety, and long-term durability, underpinning ClearVue’s ambition to embed its Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) technology into commercial building projects worldwide.

The IECEE CB Certificate is particularly notable as it facilitates recognition of test results across more than 50 economies, streamlining ClearVue’s pathway into diverse international markets. Meanwhile, CE Certification opens doors across the European Union by confirming compliance with mandatory regulatory standards, and TÜV MARK Safety provides an independent stamp of product quality and reliability.

Engineering Beyond Compliance for Longevity

ClearVue’s Managing Director, Douglas Hunt, emphasised that the company’s engineering philosophy extends well beyond merely meeting minimum standards. Gen 3 Vision Glass has been designed and tested to simulate over 25 years of ageing in real-world conditions, with internal testing exceeding double the standard cycling requirements. This rigorous approach addresses common failure points seen in legacy BIPV products, such as delamination and insulating glass unit sealing issues, which ClearVue has now overcome.

The certification program covered four Gen 3 product variants ranging from 9W to 336W, all utilising Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon) photovoltaic cells. These products feature frameless single and double-glazed constructions, Class II electrical protection, a maximum system voltage of 1,000 V DC, and UL790 Class A fire ratings, aligning with stringent safety and performance benchmarks.

Comprehensive Testing Validates Product Resilience

The independent testing regime conducted by TÜV SÜD was exhaustive, encompassing electrical performance verifications before and after stress tests, environmental reliability assessments such as thermal cycling and damp heat ageing, mechanical performance tests including hail impact and static load endurance, and detailed electrical safety evaluations like hot-spot endurance and potential induced degradation resistance.

This extensive validation not only ensures compliance with the latest international photovoltaic standards IEC 61215:2021 and IEC 61730:2023 but also provides architects, façade engineers, and regulators with the confidence that ClearVue’s Gen 3 Vision Glass can withstand the harsh conditions of building environments for decades.

Certification Supports Commercial Expansion Following Capital Raises

These certifications arrive shortly after ClearVue’s recent capital raising activities, including a $1 million Share Purchase Plan and a $5 million institutional placement, which are intended to fund product development and market expansion. The independent validation of Gen 3 Vision Glass’s performance and safety credentials is likely to bolster ClearVue’s commercial prospects as it targets global construction markets with its advanced solar glazing solutions.

Bottom Line?

ClearVue’s triple certification solidifies Gen 3 Vision Glass as a durable, safe choice for global BIPV projects, setting the stage for broader commercial adoption.

Questions in the middle?

  • How quickly will ClearVue translate these certifications into commercial contracts?
  • Can the company maintain its engineering edge as it scales production?
  • What impact will these certifications have on ClearVue’s competitive positioning in key international markets?
