Verity Resources Uncovers New Intrusive Gold Target at Gum Well
Verity Resources has identified a significant new gold-in-soil anomaly at its recently granted Gum Well tenement, opening a fresh exploration front at its Monument Gold Project in Western Australia.
- New 1.1km gold-in-soil anomaly at Gum Well
- Target coincides with magnetic intrusive feature and pathfinder elements
- Infill soil sampling boosts McKenzie Granite and McKenzie Well prospects
- High gold values returned at Korong Syenite and Star Well
- Plans underway for detailed mapping, infill sampling, and drilling
New Intrusion-Related Target Emerges at Gum Well
Verity Resources Limited (ASX:VRL) has spotlighted a fresh gold exploration opportunity with its first-pass soil sampling results from the newly granted Gum Well tenement, part of the Monument Gold Project in Western Australia’s Laverton Goldfields. The sampling campaign revealed a coherent gold-in-soil anomaly stretching approximately 1.1 kilometres, peaking at 64 parts per billion (ppb) gold, and remains open along strike. This anomaly aligns closely with a discrete magnetic feature interpreted as a high-level intrusive body, alongside copper-tellurium pathfinder anomalies, marking a compelling intrusion-related target.
The geological setting draws a direct parallel to Genesis Minerals Limited’s (ASX:GMD) Jupiter and Cameron Well deposits, which collectively host around 1.75 million ounces of gold. Verity’s director Patrick Volpe emphasised the significance, noting the convergence of geophysical, geochemical, and soil sampling data at Gum Well defines a “walk-up drill target” and represents an entirely new mineralisation style for the Monument Project.
Advancing Drill Targets at McKenzie Granite and McKenzie Well
Beyond Gum Well, Verity’s infill soil sampling at McKenzie Granite has yielded elevated gold-in-soil anomalism along the granite-greenstone contact, with recent values surpassing historic results. Similarly, McKenzie Well continues to demonstrate gold anomalism over more than 2.2 kilometres of strike, including a 1.1-kilometre anomaly along the south-eastern granite contact. Notably, McKenzie Granite lies just 400 metres west of Genesis Minerals’ McKenzie Well deposit, which contains an inferred resource of 34,000 ounces at 1.10 grams per tonne gold, underscoring the prospectivity of this corridor.
High-Value Soil Samples at Korong Syenite and Star Well
The broader soil sampling campaign also flagged standout results at Korong Syenite, adjacent to the existing 137,000-ounce Korong resource. Here, a soil sample returned a remarkable 264ppb gold, the highest individual value recorded in the campaign. Star Well, another key prospect along an 8-kilometre favourable lithological package, returned soil values up to 44ppb gold, complementing previously reported high-grade rock chips exceeding 6 grams per tonne. These results add depth to Verity’s growing pipeline of exploration targets across the Monument Project.
Systematic Exploration Builds Discovery Pipeline
Verity’s Monument Gold Project now encompasses approximately 405 square kilometres of tenure, with around 60 priority targets identified along a 20-kilometre prospective banded iron formation corridor. The company’s systematic approach, combining soil sampling, geophysical analysis, and rock chip sampling, is progressively de-risking these targets ahead of drilling. The recent soil sampling program, which included both first-pass and infill coverage, strengthens Verity’s position in one of Australia’s premier gold districts and sets the stage for imminent drill testing.
While the soil sampling results are encouraging, the true economic potential of these targets remains to be validated through drilling. Verity plans further detailed mapping and infill soil sampling at Gum Well and other prospects to refine drill targets. Investors will be watching for upcoming drill results that could substantiate these early-stage anomalies and potentially expand the company’s resource base.
Bottom Line?
Verity’s identification of a new intrusion-related gold target at Gum Well, alongside advancing multiple prospects, signals a promising exploration phase, but drill confirmation will be critical to translate soil anomalies into resources.
Questions in the middle?
- Will drilling at Gum Well confirm the scale and grade suggested by soil anomalies?
- How will Verity prioritise its extensive pipeline of around 60 targets across Monument?
- Can the new intrusion-related target at Gum Well unlock a mineralisation style comparable to Genesis Minerals’ nearby deposits?
