Deeper Drilling Targets High-Grade Sulphides Below Gossan 1

Golden Deeps Ltd (ASX:GED) is set to escalate exploration at its Graceland Critical Metals Prospect in Namibia’s Otavi Mountain Land with a new diamond drilling campaign targeting high-grade copper-silver-zinc-germanium sulphide mineralisation. The program will test three significant Induced Polarisation (IP) chargeability anomalies within the 800-metre-long Gossan 1 Corridor, a zone already known for exceptional surface sampling grades.

The first stage involves 10 diamond drillholes within the top 100 metres, focused on two IP sulphide targets down-plunge and east of the high-grade Gossan 1 and Gossan 1 East zones. These zones have yielded channel samples with extraordinary grades, including 3 metres at 11.2% copper, 294 g/t silver, and 8.7% zinc, with individual intervals hitting 31.7% copper and 1,353 g/t silver. Shallow diamond drilling beneath these gossans has also intersected mineralisation with copper equivalent grades up to 16.6%.

Geophysical Surveys Highlight Deeper and Blind Targets

Complementing the surface sampling, a detailed IP-Resistivity survey has defined three prominent chargeability anomalies interpreted as sulphide targets analogous to the world-class Tsumeb deposit located just 30 kilometres north. The strongest of these, the Gossan 1 Far East target, is a blind anomaly with no surface expression and remains open to the east and at depth, earmarked for testing in the program’s second stage.

Recent shallow drilling has intersected down-dip extensions of mineralised gossan zones, with visual logging confirming the presence of copper carbonates, sphalerite, galena, and malachite within brecciated and faulted dolomite. Assay results from these holes are pending, expected within weeks, and will help refine the deeper drilling targets.

Strategic Position in a Proven Metallogenic Belt

Golden Deeps holds 440 square kilometres in the Otavi Mountain Land, a prolific metallogenic belt hosting major deposits such as Tsumeb and Kombat. The company’s tenements include multiple advanced base and critical metals projects with established mineral resources, including vanadium, copper, lead, zinc, silver, germanium, gallium, and antimony.

The Graceland Prospect’s mineralisation style and metal suite closely resemble those of Tsumeb, a steeply dipping carbonate-hosted sulphide deposit famed for its polymetallic richness. This geological analogy underpins the company’s confidence in the potential scale and grade of the Graceland discovery.

Golden Deeps CEO Jon Dugdale emphasised the significance of securing a drilling rig capable of accessing the challenging terrain and testing these high-priority targets. He noted that the program will build on spectacular previous results and that ongoing shallow drilling continues to intersect strongly mineralised zones, bolstering confidence as the company embarks on deeper exploration.

Broader Exploration and Next Steps

Beyond Graceland, Golden Deeps is advancing exploration at other “Tsumeb-type” targets within its Central Otavi Project, including areas with high-chargeability anomalies and copper mineralisation identified through soil and rockchip sampling. These targets remain open for further drilling and assay reporting.

The company’s methodical approach, integrating detailed geophysical surveys, surface sampling, and staged drilling, aims to delineate and expand high-grade sulphide mineralisation that could materially enhance its resource base in a globally significant critical metals province.
