Deeper Drilling Targets High-Grade Sulphide Zones

Golden Deeps Ltd (ASX:GED) is set to deepen its exploration footprint at the Graceland Prospect in Namibia’s Otavi Mountain Land with a newly contracted diamond drilling program targeting high-grade copper-silver-zinc-germanium sulphide mineralisation. The upcoming campaign aims to test three significant Induced Polarisation (IP) chargeability anomalies within an 800-metre strike of the Gossan 1 Corridor, a zone already renowned for exceptional surface sampling grades.

Stage 1 will deliver 10 diamond drillholes within the top 100 metres, focusing on two IP sulphide targets located down-plunge and east of the historically mineralised Gossan 1 and Gossan 1 East zones. These zones have previously yielded spectacular channel sampling results including intersections of up to 31.7% copper, 1,353 grams per tonne silver, and 15.3% zinc. A second stage will push deeper, testing extensions below 100 metres and a third, larger IP anomaly without surface expression, known as Gossan 1 Far East.

Building on a Strong Exploration Foundation

Earlier shallow diamond drilling beneath the gossan zones has intersected high-grade mineralisation, with assays pending for three recent drillholes that extended sulphide zones down-dip. Notably, previous shallow drilling returned intersections such as 3.48 metres at 7.6% copper equivalent and 1.82 metres at 16.6% copper equivalent, underscoring the prospectivity of the corridor. The mineralisation style, associated with brecciated fault zones and veining, draws a compelling parallel to the world-class Tsumeb deposit located just 30 kilometres north, which historically produced 27 million tonnes at 4.3% copper, 10% lead, and significant silver and germanium credits.

Golden Deeps’ tenement package spans 440 square kilometres within the Otavi Mountain Land, a prolific metallogenic belt hosting multiple high-grade base and critical metals deposits. The Graceland Prospect lies northeast of Midas Minerals’ Otavi Copper-Silver Project, where recent drilling has revealed substantial copper-silver mineralisation in a similar geological setting.

Geophysical Surveys Define ‘Tsumeb-Type’ Targets

The company’s recent IP-Resistivity survey has been pivotal in delineating sulphide targets at depth. Modelling of these geophysical anomalies has identified three major chargeability zones extending over 800 metres east of the Gossan 1 outcrops and open at depth, representing prime drill targets for “Tsumeb-type” sulphide mineralisation rich in copper, silver, zinc, lead, germanium, and antimony. This geophysical framework complements the high-grade surface geochemistry and channel sampling, providing a robust exploration vector.

Golden Deeps CEO Jon Dugdale emphasised the importance of the drilling rig secured for this phase, capable of accessing the challenging terrain and testing targets down to 250 metres. He highlighted the encouraging results from ongoing shallow drilling and expressed confidence as the company embarks on this deeper drilling phase.

Regional Context and Exploration Pipeline

The Otavi Mountain Land hosts some of Namibia’s most renowned polymetallic deposits, including the Tsumeb and Kombat mines. Golden Deeps’ broader portfolio includes advanced projects with established mineral resources for vanadium, copper, lead, zinc, silver, and critical metals such as gallium and germanium. The company’s Central Otavi Critical Metals Project, acquired in 2025, encompasses multiple prospects with ‘Tsumeb-type’ target characteristics, reinforcing the strategic value of its landholding.

Exploration continues beyond Graceland, with soil and rockchip sampling underway at other target areas exhibiting high-chargeability IP anomalies and copper mineralisation. These efforts aim to expand the footprint of critical metals discoveries within the region.

Pending assay results from recent shallow drillholes are expected within weeks, which could provide further insights into the continuity and grade of mineralisation, shaping the next steps in the drilling program and resource evaluation.
