MB Gold Uncovers New High-Grade Zone at Twin Veins East

Mining By Maxwell Dee 4 min read

MB Gold has identified a promising new high-grade gold zone at its Twin Veins East prospect, extending mineralisation 500 metres east and setting the stage for an expanded Phase 2 drilling campaign.

  • New high-grade gold intercepts at Twin Veins East
  • Mineralisation extends 500m east along a 1.5km gold-in-soil anomaly
  • Lower grade results from Douglas Find prospect
  • Phase 2 drilling planned for Razorback, Twin Veins, and Douglas Find
  • Geophysical surveys near completion to enhance targeting

Discovery of New High-Grade Gold Zone at Twin Veins East

MB Gold Limited (ASX:MBG) has revealed a significant new high-grade gold zone at its Twin Veins East prospect within the Marble Bar Gold Project, located in Western Australia's prolific Pilbara region. The maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program delivered standout assays including 2 metres at 6.73 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 39 metres depth, highlighted by a 1-metre section at 13.12 g/t Au. Other notable intercepts include 3 metres at 2.31 g/t Au and 1 metre at 6.8 g/t Au, all pointing to a previously unrecognised extension of mineralisation 500 metres east of the known high-grade shoots at Twin Veins.

Extending the Gold-In-Soil Anomaly Along Strike

The newly identified mineralisation lies within quartz veining hosted by mafic to felsic volcaniclastics, accompanied by strong sericite alteration; characteristics consistent with the central Twin Veins prospect. This discovery extends the known mineralised corridor along a 1.5-kilometre gold-in-soil anomaly, underscoring the potential for additional high-grade shoots to be delineated within this corridor that spans 12 kilometres between the Douglas Find and Razorback prospects. While the true width and plunge controls of the mineralisation remain to be confirmed, these results validate MB Gold's geological model and systematic exploration approach.

Douglas Find Returns Lower Grade but Encouraging Results

Final assays from the Douglas Find prospect, where 12 holes were drilled on wide-spaced sections, revealed a series of lower-grade gold intercepts with a peak of 1 metre at 2.16 g/t Au. Mineralisation here shares similar alteration styles to Twin Veins but exhibits broader and more moderate sericite alteration. These results, while less robust than those at Twin Veins East, contribute to a growing understanding of the project's geological framework and support ongoing exploration efforts.

Phase 2 Drilling and Geophysical Surveys to Expand Exploration

MB Gold is preparing for an extensive Phase 2 drilling campaign targeting down-plunge extensions at Twin Veins and Douglas Find, alongside initial drill testing of the Razorback prospect located approximately 5 kilometres east of Twin Veins. This upcoming program aims to test alternate vein orientations and expand the footprint of known mineralisation. Complementing the drilling, an Induced Polarisation (IP) geophysical survey supported by an Environmental Impact Statement is nearing completion. When combined with recently completed LiDAR and forthcoming HYMAP surveys, these data sets will refine targeting and enhance the potential for further discoveries across the highly prospective tenement package, including at the Murphy Well prospect.

Strategic Location and Infrastructure Benefits

The Marble Bar Gold Project benefits from excellent infrastructure, being just 150 kilometres from Port Hedland via sealed roads, 40 kilometres from the Marble Bar township, and 60 kilometres from AIM Mining Corporation’s Warrawoona Operations. The project lies within the Archean Pilbara Craton, along the northwest margin of the Mt Edgar Batholith, a geological setting known for its gold potential. MB Gold holds precious metals rights under a mineral rights agreement with Global Lithium Resources, which owns the tenement.

CEO Highlights Validation of Exploration Strategy

Executive Director and CEO Logan Barber described the Twin Veins East discovery as a “great addition” that validates the company’s geological model and systematic exploration approach. He emphasised the significance of the high-grade intercepts in supporting ongoing efforts to test strike extensions and new targets within the Marble Bar Gold Project.

Bottom Line?

MB Gold’s new high-grade discovery at Twin Veins East strengthens its exploration momentum, with Phase 2 drilling and integrated geophysical surveys poised to unlock further potential across the Marble Bar project.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will Phase 2 drilling confirm high-grade plunge controls at Twin Veins East?
  • How will geophysical survey data influence targeting at Razorback and Murphy Well?
  • What impact will these results have on future resource estimates and project valuation?
