Accelerate Resources Reports Strong Shallow Gold Hits at Fluffy Prospect

Accelerate Resources has delivered promising shallow gold intersections from maiden drilling at the Fluffy Prospect, reinforcing the potential of its expanded Balagundi Gold Project near Kalgoorlie.

  • First drilling at Fluffy in over 30 years yields significant gold grades
  • Notable intersections include 10m at 1.05 g/t Au and 1m at 8.44 g/t Au
  • Results align with historical mineralisation in a key geological corridor
  • Expanded Balagundi landholding now covers approximately 62 km²
  • Follow-up deeper drilling and systematic exploration planned

Maiden Drilling at Fluffy Delivers Encouraging Gold Intersections

Accelerate Resources Limited (ASX:AX8) has reported a successful maiden aircore drilling campaign at the Fluffy Prospect within its Balagundi Gold Project, located near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. This marks the first drilling at Fluffy in over three decades and has uncovered multiple significant shallow gold hits, including a standout 1 metre intercept grading 8.44 g/t Au from 37 metres, along with 10 metres at 1.05 g/t Au and 4 metres from surface at 1.13 g/t Au.

The program comprised 35 shallow aircore holes totaling 1,473 metres on 100 to 150-metre spaced traverses, targeting the eastern margin of the Catrock-textured porphyritic dolerite and structural corridors identified in the company’s Gradient Array Induced Polarisation (GAIP) geophysical survey. These results bolster confidence in a coherent hydrothermal gold system at Fluffy, supported by alteration, sulphides, and quartz veining observed in drill cores.

Alignment with Historical Mineralisation and Geochemical Vectors

The recent intersections occur within the same broad geological corridor that hosts historical drill intercepts, such as 45 metres at 1.35 g/t Au from 24 metres in hole BHR042. The new results also coincide with elevated arsenic geochemical anomalies, which are interpreted as signatures of hydrothermal alteration linked to gold mineralisation rather than background lithological variation.

Accelerate’s CEO Luke Meter highlighted that the combined geological, geochemical, and geophysical data present multiple vectors pointing to a significant gold system. The presence of cross-cutting structures and a strong arsenic footprint aligns with the company’s interpretation of a substantial mineralised corridor along the eastern margin of the Catrock dolerite.

Strategic Expansion and Next Steps in Exploration

Following recent ground consolidation through a binding transaction with Maritana Minerals Limited, Accelerate has expanded its Balagundi landholding by approximately 80% to around 62 square kilometres. This acquisition includes tenure over the interpreted extension of the Delta Trend, providing a larger platform for systematic exploration across multiple target areas including Spencers, Paris Gift, Delta, Iron Bound, and Fluffy.

The company plans to advance Fluffy towards reverse circulation (RC) and diamond drilling, integrating ongoing analytical work with geological mapping and geochemical sampling across the expanded project area. This approach aims to refine structural models and prioritise high-potential targets for deeper drilling, testing the largely unexplored fresh rock at depth for a primary gold source.

Accelerate’s move to follow up the aircore results with more targeted drilling echoes its broader strategy of unlocking value from underexplored gold corridors within a premier Western Australian gold district.

Bottom Line?

Fluffy’s maiden drilling confirms a promising shallow gold system, setting the stage for deeper exploration within an expanded Balagundi tenure.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will follow-up RC and diamond drilling confirm the depth extent and continuity of the Fluffy gold system?
  • How will integration of geochemical and geophysical data refine target prioritisation across the expanded Balagundi Project?
  • Can Accelerate leverage its expanded landholding to delineate a multi-trend gold camp with economic potential?
