GOIP Deal Boosts Activeport’s Recurring Revenue Pipeline

Activeport Group Ltd (ASX:ATV) has clinched a significant contract with GOIP Globalnet, a major Asian telecommunications carrier, to use its Global Edge platform for Direct Internet Access (DIA) and Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) services across Australia. This marks the third major international telco to sign up within a week of Global Edge’s launch, underscoring the platform’s rapid traction among large carriers.

GOIP’s footprint spans six jurisdictions across Asia-Pacific, Greater China, the US, Japan, and Germany, servicing thousands of enterprises in over 300 cities. Its network includes more than 20 international nodes and 60 carrier-neutral data centres, positioning it as a leading data-centre connectivity provider in the region. By integrating Global Edge, GOIP will automate purchasing, provisioning, billing, and management of network circuits for its enterprise customers, streamlining operations and expanding its service automation capabilities.

Strategic Validation for Activeport’s International Ambitions

The agreement with GOIP covers an initial 36-month term, with services priced between $399 and $2,750 monthly, purchased typically over 12 to 60 months. While there is no minimum purchase volume, carriers of GOIP’s scale tend to buy in significant quantities, offering Activeport a pathway to fast-growing recurring revenue potentially reaching millions of dollars. Additional software-driven services like managed firewalls, cloud on-ramps, AI gateways, and SD-WAN overlay promise attractive gross margins.

Michael Glynn, Activeport’s Chief Commercial & Operating Officer, described GOIP as a “significant win” that confirms Global Edge as the right product at the right time for large international carriers. This latest contract follows recent deals with Spark and ViewQwest, reflecting a concerted push by Activeport to position Global Edge as a key revenue driver internationally. The platform’s ability to automate network service transactions is increasingly resonating with carriers seeking scalable, on-demand Australian connectivity.

Network Automation as a Growth Lever

Activeport’s Global Edge platform transforms existing infrastructure into automated, revenue-generating digital platforms, a capability that is now being embraced by major carriers like GOIP. The deal expands Activeport’s presence across Asia-Pacific and beyond, linking Australia to a vast network that includes Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mainland China, the US, Japan, and Germany.

Given the scale of GOIP’s operations and the broad geographical reach, this contract could accelerate Activeport’s recurring revenue growth significantly if service uptake is strong. The company’s strategy to layer software services on top of connectivity further enhances margin potential and diversifies revenue streams.

Activeport’s recent momentum with Global Edge, including the onboarding of Spark and ViewQwest, signals growing market acceptance of its network automation model. The next challenge will be converting these contracts into predictable, high-margin revenue streams and expanding the platform’s footprint further into Asia and other global markets.

Bottom Line?

Activeport’s third major international carrier deal in a week highlights Global Edge’s appeal but revenue growth will hinge on service uptake and contract volumes over the coming quarters.

Questions in the middle?

  • How quickly will GOIP scale its use of Global Edge services across Australia?
  • What margin impact will additional software-driven services have on Activeport’s overall profitability?
  • Can Activeport sustain this momentum and secure more large international carriers beyond the initial launch phase?
