AnteoTech Ltd (ASX:ADO) has taken a major step towards commercialising its high silicon anode technology with independent validation of Ultranode™ 95 in a 5 Ah Multi-Layer Pouch (MLP) cell format. Tested by the Battery Innovation Centre in Indiana, USA, the cells achieved over 390 Wh/kg, about 40% more energy dense than conventional graphite anodes, and retained 70% capacity after 300 charge-discharge cycles, surpassing the 200-cycle benchmark for defence drone batteries.
The Battery Innovation Centre described the scale-up as one of the most straightforward it had seen, bolstering confidence in Ultranode™ 95's manufacturability and scalability. Samples have been distributed to US drone battery manufacturers, including those supplying military applications, while early-stage talks are underway with Australian defence drone suppliers for cylindrical cell formats now in production.
New Product Launch and Strategic Partnerships Expand Battery Market Reach
During the quarter, AnteoTech launched Anteo C, a water-based, PFAS-free cross-linker additive designed to improve primer coatings on copper and aluminium current collectors used in lithium-ion batteries. The product enhances adhesion, reduces contact resistance, and protects against corrosion, enabling the use of lower-cost water-soluble binders. Following successful lab and pilot trials with a South Korean customer, a 20-litre manufacturing-scale sample was shipped for evaluation in lithium iron phosphate cathode production.
The company also signed a Strategic Collaboration and Sales Agreement Term Sheet with South Korea's Xerabrid Corporation to combine Anteo S™ with Xerabrid’s high-performance separator technology, aiming to accelerate testing and commercial adoption in Asia. On the Life Sciences front, AnteoTech completed the initial stage of a collaborative chemiluminescent immunoassay (CLIA) development program with a global life sciences company, validating its AnteoBind™ NXT magnetic particles for large-scale automated diagnostic platforms. This milestone underpins the upcoming launch of a new AnteoBind™ NXT CLIA Kit at the ADLM conference in California.
The company also appointed Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed Cosmo Bio as a non-exclusive distributor for AnteoBind™ products in Japan, tapping into a well-established network servicing universities and research institutes.
