Strategic Expansion of Gold Projects Near Leonora

Recharge Metals Limited (ASX:REC) has significantly broadened its gold exploration footprint in Western Australia’s Eastern Goldfields with the acquisition of the Ironstone Well Project, adding to its recently secured Sunset Well Gold Project. The Ironstone Well acquisition, completed post-quarter end, increases the strike length of Recharge’s Prospero Trend tenure by 50% to over 15km, enhancing the company’s exposure to high-potential gold mineralisation zones.

The Ironstone Well Project, contiguous with Sunset Well, brings drill-ready targets supported by nearly 450 historical drill holes, many intersecting anomalous gold grades, some as high as 8.2g/t over 1 metre. This acquisition complements the existing 94,500-ounce inferred gold resource at the Prospero Deposit within Sunset Well, which remains open along strike and at depth, underscoring substantial exploration upside.

Heritage Agreement and Groundwork for Drilling

In a key development for operational progress, Recharge executed a Heritage Protection Agreement with the Darlot People over the Sunset Well Project. This agreement is pivotal in ensuring exploration respects cultural heritage and facilitates the planned aggressive maiden 30,000-metre drilling campaign targeting the Prospero, Portia, and Flanders shear zones, primary structural controls of gold mineralisation in the area.

During the quarter, Recharge completed 1,120 soil samples and a high-resolution gravity survey across the Greater Prospero and Flanders trends. These surveys aim to refine gold anomaly extents and improve geological interpretations, setting a robust foundation for targeted drilling. The company is now poised to commence its maiden drill program pending heritage survey approvals.

Capital Raising Fuels Exploration Ambitions

Recharge secured approximately $6 million (before costs) through a combination of a $3.97 million placement and a $2 million pro-rata rights issue. The capital raise was strongly supported, including significant oversubscriptions, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s exploration strategy. As of 30 June 2026, Recharge holds $5.6 million in cash, well-positioned to fund the Sunset Well drilling program and other exploration activities.

The company’s cash flow report reveals disciplined expenditure, with $437,000 invested in exploration and evaluation during the quarter, balanced against financing inflows. Related party payments, including director fees and consulting, amounted to $181,000, consistent with governance standards.

Leadership and Regional Exploration Pipeline

Recharge appointed geologist Luke Timmermans as Chief Executive Officer during the quarter. Timmermans brings over 15 years of industry experience and detailed knowledge of the Leonora district, positioning him to drive resource growth and project development effectively. Meanwhile, Non-Executive Chair Felicity Repacholi continues to guide the company’s strategic direction, with Non-Executive Director Ben Vallerine stepping down post-quarter.

Beyond Sunset Well and Ironstone Well, Recharge maintains a diverse pipeline of exploration projects across Western Australia and internationally, including targets in the Pilbara, Mid-West, and Yilgarn regions, as well as uranium and lithium projects in Canada and the USA. This broad portfolio supports ongoing business development and project generation efforts.

Looking Ahead to September Quarter Activities

Recharge plans to advance its flagship Sunset Well Project by completing heritage surveys and initiating the 30,000m maiden drill program. Concurrently, reconnaissance exploration, geochemistry, and geophysics will be conducted over the newly acquired Ironstone Well tenements. Additional activities include a high-resolution drone magnetic survey at the Brandy Hill South Cu-W-Mo-Ag-Au Project and progressing regional and conceptual targets.

With a solid cash position and expanded tenement base, Recharge Metals is gearing up for a pivotal phase of exploration that could materially enhance its resource inventory in one of Australia’s most prolific gold belts.

Bottom Line?

Recharge Metals’ expanded landholding and fresh capital set the stage for a decisive drilling campaign, but the success of translating historical anomalies into new resources remains to be proven.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will the maiden 30,000m drilling at Sunset Well confirm extensions to the existing resource or reveal new high-grade zones?
  • How will Recharge integrate the Ironstone Well data to prioritise drill targets across the now 15km Prospero Trend?
  • What impact will evolving heritage and regulatory approvals have on the timing and scale of exploration activities?
