The surveys, covering the Maitland Strategic Industrial Area plant site, associated water pipeline corridor, and regional infrastructure corridor to Burrup, revealed no threatened flora or Threatened Ecological Communities (TECs) within the project envelope.

Conducted by Pilbara Ecological and Eco Logical Australia, the assessments found the area predominantly features common and widespread Pilbara habitats, with vegetation communities well represented regionally. The surveys recorded a handful of Priority flora and fauna species, but no conservation-listed fauna within the plant site, and only two Priority 4 fauna species along the water supply pipeline corridor.
