Exclusive Distribution Deal Unlocks National Reach
Proteomics International Laboratories Ltd (ASX:PIQ) has taken a decisive step in commercialising its Promarker® portfolio by signing a three-year exclusive national distribution agreement with Healius Limited (ASX:HLS). This marks the first time Proteomics International has secured a national commercial distribution partner for its suite of predictive and diagnostic blood tests.
Under the deal, Healius will leverage its extensive pathology infrastructure, including more than 2,000 patient collection centres and established relationships with healthcare providers across Australia, to manage specimen collection, pathology distribution, and referrer engagement. Meanwhile, Proteomics International will maintain full responsibility for laboratory testing, clinical reporting, scientific support, and regulatory compliance, continuing to operate through its accredited laboratory facilities.
A Capital-Efficient Commercialisation Model
The partnership is designed to be capital-efficient, enabling Proteomics International to avoid the costly and complex task of building its own national specimen collection network. Instead, it taps into Healius’ well-established distribution channels to facilitate market access and support the phased rollout of Promarker® tests starting in FY27.

Promarker® Portfolio Targets Early Disease Detection
The Promarker® portfolio includes tests with significant clinical potential, such as Promarker®D for predicting diabetic kidney disease risk, Promarker®Eso for assessing oesophageal cancer risk, and Promarker®Endo for diagnosing endometriosis. These tests aim to enable earlier clinical intervention and personalised patient management, addressing unmet diagnostic needs.
While the agreement sets a clear pathway for national access, Proteomics International cautions that revenue outcomes remain uncertain given the early stage of commercialisation. The company will update the market on material developments as they arise.
Implementation and Next Steps
Implementation activities are already underway, covering operational and IT integration, laboratory workflow adjustments, clinician education, and market access planning. The commercial rollout will be phased, with progressive launch expected throughout FY27.
