Revenue Growth Driven by Enterprise Expansion

RocketDNA Ltd (ASX:RKT) posted a solid Q2 FY26 with revenue climbing to $2.53 million, marking a 52% increase compared to the same quarter last year and a 2% rise from the previous quarter. This growth was underpinned by a 25% quarter-on-quarter surge in recurring revenue from its xBot® autonomous drone systems, reflecting deeper penetration into existing mining sites and onboarding of new enterprise customers.

Notably, the company achieved its second consecutive quarter of positive net operating cash flow, albeit modest at $60,000, supported by customer cash receipts of nearly $3 million. The cash balance remained healthy at $2.7 million as of 30 June 2026, despite ongoing investments in hardware and software development.

Enterprise Deployments Accelerate with Four New Customers

RocketDNA expanded its footprint by commencing paid operations at four new enterprise mining customers during the quarter: Fenix Resources, Norton Gold Fields, Sibanye Platinum, and Whitehaven Coal. The Whitehaven Coal trial notably transitioned to a paid arrangement from 1 July. The total number of xBot® systems on paid ongoing service rose by 20% to 24 units, with an additional 15 units in various stages of manufacture, transport, commissioning, or trial, more than doubling the pipeline from the prior quarter.

The company’s flagship deployment with BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) matured into one of Australia’s largest continuous autonomous drone operations, spanning multiple metallurgical coal operations in the Bowen Basin. This scale-up has been a key revenue driver and operational proof point for RocketDNA's autonomous drone platform.

Skylink® OS Full Rollout and Software Integration with Deswik

RocketDNA’s proprietary Skylink® operating system is now live across all enterprise customers, facilitating seamless management of autonomous drone fleets and mission scheduling. Monthly active users across Skylink® and the SiteTube® data platform surged 127% quarter-on-quarter to over 1,000, with approximately 25,000 drone missions pre-booked for the next 12 months, providing strong visibility into future revenue streams.

Post quarter-end, RocketDNA signed a non-binding, non-exclusive Memorandum of Understanding with Deswik, part of Sandvik’s Digital Mining Technologies division. This agreement aims to integrate xBot® drone survey data directly into Deswik.CAD mine-planning software, streamlining the path from data capture to engineering planning. Technical scoping is set to begin shortly, though commercial terms remain to be negotiated.

Corporate Simplification Through WA Subsidiary Acquisition

In a move to streamline its corporate structure, RocketDNA acquired the remaining 40% stake in its Western Australian subsidiary, RocketDNA (WA), increasing its ownership to 100%. The $1 million consideration was paid entirely in shares, which are escrowed for 12 months. This transaction removes a non-controlling interest without impacting operational control or financial reporting, aligning the subsidiary’s founders more closely with RocketDNA shareholders.

Manufacturing Capacity and Operational Readiness

Responding to growing demand, RocketDNA expanded its supply chain by engaging two additional suppliers to assemble xBot® units and related remote power hardware. The company now has the capacity to assemble up to 24 units per month globally, subject to component lead times. All units meet stringent mine-site electrical standards and are configured for remote hardware monitoring and Skylink® integration, enabling on-site commissioning within a day.

Bottom Line?

RocketDNA’s steady revenue growth and expanded enterprise deployments, coupled with its software integration initiatives, position it well to deepen recurring revenue streams and broaden its autonomous drone footprint in mining.

Questions in the middle?

  • How quickly will the Deswik integration move from technical scoping to commercialisation?
  • Can RocketDNA sustain its positive operating cash flow trend as it invests in scaling hardware production?
  • What new enterprise sectors beyond mining might RocketDNA target to diversify revenue?
