Maritana Secures Camps to Support Black Swan Hub Construction and Operations

Temporary Camp to Kickstart Black Swan Construction

Maritana Minerals (ASX:MRT) has secured a 57-room fly-in fly-out camp from Quick Camps to support the initial construction phase of its Black Swan Processing Hub (BSPH). Scheduled to be operational from early August 2026, this temporary camp includes kitchen and amenity facilities and is expected to remain on site for about a year, enabling construction activities to proceed on schedule.

Permanent Accommodation to Support Operational Scale-Up

Looking beyond construction, Maritana has procured kitchen and accommodation modules from ATCO Structures & Logistics for a 60-room permanent camp at Black Swan, with design scalability up to 120 rooms. These modules, considered long lead items, are due for delivery in November 2026, with construction targeted for completion by early January 2027. This timeline aligns with the anticipated ramp-up of contractor numbers as the hub moves toward full operational capacity.

Kalgoorlie Property Acquisition Enhances Workforce Flexibility

Maritana has also purchased a property in central Kalgoorlie, already approved for development of a 50-room accommodation camp. This facility aims to support exploration and mining operations at proximate sites including Boorara and Coote/Crake. Construction is expected to begin in early 2027 following a forthcoming tender process for engineering and building works. In the interim, temporary accommodation arrangements are in place to support ongoing drilling and the planned operational ramp-up in the first quarter of 2027.

Accommodation Strategy Aligned with Hub and Spoke Model

The accommodation approach reflects Maritana’s hub and spoke operating model for the BSPH, which is located about 50km northeast of Kalgoorlie. By establishing permanent camps both at Black Swan and in Kalgoorlie, the company intends to reduce travel times and allocate worker accommodation based on proximity to operating sites throughout the project’s lifespan. This strategy is critical to supporting workforce logistics across the cluster of mining operations within a 50km radius of Kalgoorlie.

Infrastructure Moves Support Project Momentum

Securing accommodation infrastructure early is a key enabler for Maritana’s development timetable. The Quick Camps fly-camp facilitates the immediate commencement of construction, while the ATCO modules represent a strategic move to lock in long lead items ahead of the expected surge in contractor demand. The Kalgoorlie camp acquisition extends the company’s footprint and operational flexibility in the Goldfields region, underpinning exploration and mining activities as the Black Swan hub advances toward production.
