Transitioning Paris from Study to Execution

Investigator Silver Limited (ASX:IVR) has marked a pivotal quarter as it advances the Paris Silver Project beyond feasibility studies into the execution phase. The company has appointed an engineering partner to progress detailed designs, aligning workstreams with permitting requirements and preparing the project for construction readiness. This transition is underpinned by a strategic focus on optimising project economics and reducing execution risk ahead of a Final Investment Decision (FID).

With the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) confirming a low technical risk, conventional open-pit operation and strong financial metrics, Investigator Silver is now embedding DFS optimisations into engineering and mine planning. The Paris site layout has been further developed to incorporate detailed infrastructure and haul road designs, ensuring flexibility during development and compliance with permitting demands.

Permitting and Regulatory Progress

Permitting workstreams have advanced significantly, with completion of environmental, technical, and heritage studies, including detailed surveys supporting native title and land access negotiations. These efforts are critical to the upcoming submission of the Mining Lease Application (MLA), targeted for the September 2026 quarter.

Collaboration with Native Title partners has yielded comprehensive heritage and field surveys, progressing agreements that are essential to de-risking the permitting pathway. Execution of the Native Title Mining Agreement remains a key milestone for MLA approval, alongside preparation of the Program for Environment Protection and Rehabilitation (PEPR).

Exploration Drilling and Resource Development

Exploration activities during the quarter concentrated on infill and extensional drilling around the Paris pit to enhance resource confidence and support potential pit expansion. Drilling was temporarily paused due to wet weather but is scheduled to resume in the September quarter. The next phase aims to bolster early mining inventory through resource conversion and definition drilling, underpinning mine planning and metallurgical studies.

Regional exploration within the Paris Silver Corridor continues to identify promising targets consistent with epithermal and skarn mineralisation, located within trucking distance of the Paris operation. Planned drill testing of these advanced targets in the coming quarter offers potential for organic growth beyond the current resource base.

Strengthening Executive and Technical Team

Investigator Silver has bolstered its project delivery and financing capabilities with key appointments. Joe Sutanto joins as Chief Financial Officer and Joint Company Secretary, Luke Cerny as Principal Mining Engineer, and Dr Ben Cave as Senior Exploration Geologist. External consultants Milan Jiranek and Geoff Deans have been engaged to lead detailed engineering and provide technical advisory services, respectively.

Post quarter-end, Byron Gordon was appointed Chief Development Officer, bringing over 25 years of experience in corporate finance and capital markets. Gordon will spearhead funding strategy and capital markets engagement, critical as Investigator Silver advances towards FID and project financing.

Robust Cash Position Following Institutional Placement

The company completed a two-tranche institutional placement during the quarter, bolstering its cash reserves to $58.8 million. This strong balance sheet enables Investigator Silver to accelerate permitting, detailed engineering, resource growth, and financing readiness activities. The placement was supported by both existing and new domestic and international institutional investors, reflecting confidence in the project's prospects.

Operating cash flows remained modestly positive, with exploration and evaluation expenditure of $2.8 million invested during the quarter. The company reports an estimated funding runway exceeding 21 quarters at current expenditure rates, providing a solid financial buffer as it progresses development milestones.

Bottom Line?

Investigator Silver’s enhanced funding and team expertise position Paris well for upcoming regulatory milestones and financing, but assay results and Native Title negotiations will be critical next steps.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will pending assay results influence resource confidence and mine planning?
  • What is the timeline and likelihood for finalising the Native Title Mining Agreement?
  • How will the company structure project financing ahead of the Final Investment Decision?
