Perpetual Confirms High-Grade Tungsten at Paraíba with Assays up to 1.53% WO₃

Multiple High-Grade Tungsten Zones Validated

Perpetual Resources Ltd (ASX:PEC) has reported encouraging assay results from its maiden reconnaissance rock chip sampling at the Paraíba Tungsten Project in northeastern Brazil. Six of 18 selective samples returned tungsten oxide (WO₃) grades above 0.50%, including a standout 1.53% WO₃ peak, with mineralisation confirmed across three geographically distinct target areas rather than a single isolated occurrence. This broad footprint supports the prospectivity of multiple skarn-hosted tungsten targets within the project.

Expanding Beyond Historical Mining Footprint

The sampling program not only validated historically reported tungsten occurrences but also identified mineralised skarn outcrops beyond previously recognised artisanal workings. This expansion materially increases the areas warranting systematic follow-up exploration. The mineralisation aligns with mapped calc-silicate skarn horizons, granite–marble contacts, and structurally controlled corridors consistent with scheelite deposits elsewhere in the Seridó Mineral Province, a well-established tungsten district.

Strategic Follow-Up Program Planned for August

Building on these first-pass results, Perpetual is gearing up for a second field program in August 2026. The follow-up will focus on detailed geological and structural mapping, systematic rock chip and channel sampling, and extending mapping along strike from the higher-grade results. The program aims to assess the extent, orientation, and continuity of mineralised skarn horizons, investigate additional historical workings, and prioritise targets for trenching or drilling. Early planning for an initial drilling campaign is also underway, pending results and approvals.

Paraíba’s Role in Perpetual’s Tungsten Strategy

Paraíba complements Perpetual’s acquisition of the Nevada Scheelite Project in the US, together forming a portfolio of tungsten assets in Tier-1, Western-aligned jurisdictions. The Nevada asset, recently visited by Perpetual’s technical team, features historic underground infrastructure and is expected to advance towards a maiden JORC resource. This dual exposure to established tungsten districts positions Perpetual to capitalise on growing demand for tungsten, a critical mineral integral to defence, energy transition, and advanced manufacturing technologies.

Cautious Optimism Amid Early-Stage Exploration

While the rock chip sampling results are promising, they represent selective point observations rather than continuous mineralised widths or average grades. The company emphasises that systematic sampling and drilling will be necessary to define resource potential and grade continuity. Nonetheless, the assays provide a strong technical foundation for advancing exploration at Paraíba and support Perpetual’s broader ambition to build a meaningful tungsten portfolio aligned with strategic critical mineral supply chains.
