Alligator Energy Extends Blackbush Uranium Mineralisation by 600m South

Alligator Energy's drilling campaign at the Samphire Uranium Project has pushed uranium mineralisation 600 metres south of Blackbush, unlocking new ground on the Mullaquana Crown Lease and advancing resource delineation and feasibility efforts.

  • 600m southern extension of Blackbush uranium mineralisation
  • 300-hole drilling program underway across Blackbush and Plumbush
  • Infill drilling at Plumbush targets resource upgrade for feasibility study
  • 108 delineation holes confirm existing resource model and support mine planning
  • Drilling to continue through Q4 2026 with two rigs on continuous day shifts

Southern Extension Unlocks New Uranium Ground

Alligator Energy (ASX:AGE) has confirmed uranium mineralisation extending 600 metres south of its Blackbush deposit, now reaching onto the newly accessible Mullaquana Crown Lease. This significant expansion was revealed through early results from a roughly 300-hole drilling campaign that began in mid-July. The southern strike extension had remained open since prior drilling in 2024, but access limitations stalled exploration until the recent lease option agreement.

Key drill intersections include 5 metres at 0.13% eU3O8 from 63.6 metres and 2.4 metres at 0.20%, highlighting consistent uranium grades in the newly tested area. These results extend the mineralised trend and delineate the western paleochannel boundary, expanding the footprint available for systematic evaluation.

Focused Drilling Strengthens Resource Confidence

The program also encompasses infill drilling at the Plumbush deposit, aiming to convert the existing Inferred Mineral Resource to Indicated status. This upgrade is critical for potential inclusion in the Samphire Feasibility Study. Drilling density is tightening from 200–400 metres spacing to as close as 25–50 metres, marking the first drilling at Plumbush since 2011 and building geological confidence.

Meanwhile, 108 delineation holes have been completed within the established Blackbush resource area on a 25m by 25m grid. The results align well with the current Mineral Resource model, providing a firmer technical foundation for detailed mine planning. This work supports the upcoming resource update expected in the first half of 2027 and informs wellfield layout considerations for in-situ recovery mining.

Drilling Program Accelerates with Two Rigs

Following the recent option agreement securing the Mullaquana Crown Lease, Alligator Energy has ramped up drilling intensity with two rigs operating on continuous day shifts. The company aims to complete the program by late Q4 2026, maintaining focus on the Blackbush-Plumbush corridor and southern extensions.

CEO Andrea Marsland-Smith emphasised the strategic value of the lease access and the rapid progress from securing land to active drilling. She noted that the early results validate the growth strategy and provide a stronger geological dataset for the feasibility work underway.

Next Steps Toward Resource Update and Feasibility

Alligator Energy plans to integrate the new drilling data with geological and geophysical information into an updated Mineral Resource estimate slated for Q1/Q2 2027. This update will underpin the ongoing Samphire Feasibility Study, which includes mine planning and regulatory approvals. The company’s approach reflects a methodical advance from exploration to development readiness, leveraging its expanded landholding and improved data density.

The uranium grades reported are derived from downhole gamma logging rather than chemical assays, a standard industry practice for this deposit type but one that introduces some estimation uncertainty. The full impact on resource size and project economics will become clearer with the forthcoming resource update and feasibility results.

Bottom Line?

The extension of uranium mineralisation and intensified drilling program mark a pivotal phase for Alligator Energy’s Samphire project, with a resource update and feasibility study poised to clarify its development trajectory in early 2027.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will the expanded Blackbush footprint affect overall resource size and grade profile?
  • What impact will the Plumbush resource upgrade have on the Samphire Feasibility Study outcomes?
  • Could the drilling results influence the timing and scale of project approvals and development?
