Dudley Lithium Project Shows Promising New Targets

Xenora Minerals (ASX:XRA) has revealed encouraging exploration progress at its Dudley Lithium Project on Kangaroo Island, South Australia, with new zones of lithium anomalism identified through enhanced soil sampling techniques. The company is preparing for a drilling campaign later in the year to test these targets, signalling a tangible step forward in unlocking the project's potential.

The recent February sampling program highlighted a new area dubbed the ‘Northern Pegmatite’, where broad anomalies in lithium and associated elements such as cesium, rubidium, beryllium, and tungsten were detected. This discovery adds to the robust signature of the main Dudley Pegmatite, which extends over six kilometres and features pegmatite dykes up to 80 metres wide.

Four-Acid Digest Sampling Validates Superior Detection

Xenora’s use of a four-acid digest analytical method has proven superior to the previous Mobile Metal Ion (MMI) soil sampling, especially in areas with lateritic duricrust, a weathered soil layer common on the project site. The four-acid method detected lithium and other critical LCT (lithium, cesium, tantalum) elements more reliably, addressing inconsistencies observed in the 2025 MMI datasets.

Orientation sampling over known pegmatite zones confirmed that MMI results were often muted or spotty, whereas the four-acid approach delivered clear anomalous signals. This methodological insight is critical for refining exploration targets and improving the accuracy of geochemical surveys ahead of drilling.

Rock Chip Sampling Supports Lithium Potential

Complementing soil surveys, 35 rock chip samples collected during the March quarter demonstrated strong lithium and LCT element anomalies, despite intense surface weathering. Notably, samples from small workings at the Dudley Pegmatite returned lithium concentrations up to 1392 ppm (0.30% Li2O), confirming the presence of highly fractionated lithium-bearing pegmatites.

Samples from the Northern Pegmatite area showed moderate anomalism, suggesting potential extensions of lithium mineralisation beneath lateritic cover. Further work is planned to assess whether these pegmatites become more prospective along strike, possibly extending up to 1,000 metres southwest.

Corporate and Financial Position Remain Stable

At quarter-end, Xenora held A$2.17 million in cash reserves, with exploration expenditure limited primarily to tenement rents and minimal operational outlays. Payments to directors totalled $225,000, including a leave payout to the former managing director. The company continues rehabilitation efforts at its Mount Hardy Project and advances planning for exploration at its Halo-Yuri lithium project in Canada.

Xenora’s portfolio includes multiple tenements across Australia and Canada, with no changes in ownership or status during the quarter. The company remains committed to growing shareholder value through its critical minerals assets and ongoing assessment of new opportunities in the resource sector.
