Bindi Metals Completes 2,100m Maiden Drilling at Ravni Gold Project

Mining By Maxwell Dee 3 min read

Bindi Metals has substantially completed the first phase of its maiden diamond drilling at the Ravni Gold Project in Serbia, overcoming initial drilling challenges and now awaits assay results to guide future exploration.

  • 13 diamond holes drilled totaling ~2,100m at Ravni
  • Drilling contractor switched to improve core recovery at Drenjak
  • Assay results and geological interpretation pending
  • Cash balance stands at $1.68 million with exploration spend of $1.1 million
  • Canamera progressing Schryburt Lake Project under earn-in agreement

Maiden Drilling Phase Nears Completion at Ravni Gold Project

Bindi Metals Limited (ASX:BIM) has wrapped up the bulk of its inaugural diamond drilling campaign at the Ravni Gold Project in southern Serbia, completing 13 holes spanning approximately 2,100 metres across three key prospects: Drenjak, Rujak, and Rudnjak North. This marks the most extensive drilling effort undertaken at Ravni to date and targets high-priority geochemical and geophysical anomalies.

The initial drilling at Drenjak ran into problematic ground conditions characterized by highly fractured and faulted rock, which hampered core recovery and limited hole depths in the first four holes. In response, Bindi engaged Geoing to deploy a larger-capacity diamond drill rig better suited to these challenging conditions, resulting in a marked improvement in drilling performance and core quality. One final hole is currently underway at the Drenjak West target to conclude this phase.

Geological Insights Await Assay Results

While geological logging and interpretation are ongoing, assay results from the maiden drilling remain outstanding. The data collected so far has significantly enhanced the company’s understanding of the structural controls and mineralisation potential across the project. At Rujak, five holes tested gold-silver mineralisation linked to surface outcrops and IP anomalies, refining the geological model for future targeting. Rudnjak North’s three holes have also yielded encouraging mineralisation indications in drill core.

Bindi plans to integrate all assay data and geological interpretations into a comprehensive exploration update covering the three prospects once all results are received. This update will inform follow-up exploration strategies across Ravni.

Exploration and Corporate Activity Beyond Serbia

In Australia, technical reviews continued at the Biloela Project, focusing on geological and structural interpretations, historical data assessment, and evaluating copper-gold and critical minerals potential. Meanwhile, in Canada, Canamera Energy Metals Inc. is advancing the Schryburt Lake Project under an earn-in agreement, progressing exploration permits, stakeholder engagement, and drill targeting optimisation. Canamera expects to commence drilling shortly after permit approval, with Bindi retaining a free-carried interest and exposure to exploration upside without near-term funding obligations.

Financial Position and Outlook

At quarter-end, Bindi Metals held $1.68 million in cash, having spent $1.109 million primarily on Ravni drilling activities during the period. Corporate payments to related parties, including director fees and consulting, totaled $84,000. The company’s cash runway is estimated at approximately 1.4 quarters based on current expenditure levels, with management indicating confidence in maintaining operating cash flows and a history of successful capital raises to support ongoing activities.

Bottom Line?

Assay results will be critical to validating Ravni’s potential and shaping Bindi’s next exploration moves amid a tight cash position.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will assay results confirm significant gold mineralisation at Ravni?
  • How will the improved drilling performance at Drenjak influence future drilling strategies?
  • What are the timelines and funding plans to sustain exploration beyond the next 1.4 quarters?
