Strong Sales Growth Driven by Multi-Channel Expansion

OMG Group (ASX:OMG) closed FY26 with net sales of approximately $6.1 million, marking a 49% increase over the prior year’s $4.1 million. The final quarter contributed $1.54 million in net sales, up 18% on the same period last year, supported by growth across grocery, petrol, convenience, food service, and ecommerce channels. Ecommerce sales alone surged 31% quarter-on-quarter to around $650,000, despite a temporary dip in Blue Dinosaur availability during a product refresh.

National Product Rollouts and Matcha Platform Commercialisation

The company is expanding its flagship Oat Milk Goodness PrOATein range with three new ready-to-drink flavours, Matcha & Strawberry, Banana & Peanut Butter, and Salted Caramel, scheduled for rollout across all 943 Woolworths stores in coming months. Notably, the Matcha & Strawberry SKU incorporates ceremonial-grade matcha sourced under OMG’s exclusive five-year SANDAI Group supply agreement, which saw its first shipment of matcha land in Australia this quarter. This inventory is poised to support commercial fulfilment from August, marking a shift from launch to active sales across distribution, food service, and ingredient supply channels.

International Distribution Gains Momentum

OMG Group secured its first international retail presence with Blue Dinosaur products now stocked in Chemist Warehouse New Zealand’s 88 stores through wholesaler ANZ Pharma. Complementing this, the company inked a Southeast Asia distribution agreement with Asean International Pty Ltd to import and distribute both Oat Milk Goodness and Blue Dinosaur in Vietnam, establishing OMG’s initial foothold in that market. These moves diversify OMG’s revenue streams beyond Australia and align with its multi-channel growth strategy.

Cash Flow and Inventory Investments Signal Strategic Positioning

While operating cash flow was negative $405,000 for the quarter, the figure included $122,000 in brand refresh investment and $50,000 in legal costs linked to potential mergers and acquisitions. Adjusted for these one-off items, normalised net operating outflow improved by 33% compared to the prior quarter. The company also made a deliberate working capital investment of $242,000 in matcha inventory, which is now on hand and expected to convert to revenue through FY27. At quarter-end, OMG held $1.16 million in cash with total available funding of $1.46 million, supported by undrawn debtor finance and letter of credit facilities.

Board Changes and Strategic Outlook for FY27

In corporate developments, Steve Smith, founder of Oat Milk Goodness and a major shareholder, was appointed as a Non-Executive Director, formalising his strategic role and bringing extensive networks in sport, media, retail, and consumer markets. Tim Freeburn transitioned to Executive Chairman, while Daniel Rootes remains a Non-Executive Director. Looking ahead, OMG plans to focus on maintaining product availability, supporting sell-through across the expanded Woolworths range, commencing commercial fulfilment of matcha inventory, and advancing its international distribution channels in New Zealand and Vietnam. These priorities will be pursued alongside disciplined working capital and operating expenditure management.

Bottom Line?

OMG Group’s FY26 growth and new international channels set the stage for FY27, but execution on inventory turnover and distribution expansion will be critical to sustaining momentum.

Questions in the middle?

  • How quickly will the landed matcha inventory translate into meaningful revenue in FY27?
  • Can OMG maintain product availability and sell-through momentum amid expanded Woolworths ranging?
  • What impact will the new international distribution agreements have on OMG’s top line and profitability?
