Cauldron Energy Limited (ASX:CXU) has revealed the final tranche of its 2026 passive seismic survey, confirming the Manyingee palaeochannel continues northwest beyond Paladin Energy’s tenement into Cauldron’s E08/1489 ground. This extension suggests the uranium mineralisation identified at Manyingee North and South may be part of a far larger and more complex system than previously mapped.
The 2026 survey spanned 45 lines over 257.7 line kilometres across six target areas, with the Manyingee West region; covered by six lines totalling 21.4 kilometres; delivering the latest insights. Passive seismic, a cost-effective geophysical technique, has once again proven its value by accurately defining palaeochannel margins, crucial for targeting uranium mineralisation typically confined within these ancient river systems.
Survey Highlights and Geological Implications
The Manyingee Channel is now understood to be asymmetrical and deeply incised, with bedrock depths reaching 219 metres. The western margin is notably steep and separated from the Manyingee South palaeochannel by a bedrock ridgeline, around which the channel bifurcates. The passive seismic data aligns with historical drilling and Paladin’s maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), indicating that uranium-bearing roll fronts extend right up to and beyond Cauldron’s tenement boundary.

Yanrey Project’s Resource Base and Exploration Strategy
The Yanrey Uranium Project hosts three defined uranium deposits with a combined Mineral Resource of 55.6 million pounds of uranium oxide (eU3O8). These include Bennet Well (30.9 Mlbs), Manyingee South (14.9 Mlbs), and Manyingee North (9.8 Mlbs). The project covers approximately 1,493 square kilometres along an 80-kilometre stretch of the Early Cretaceous palaeo-coastline in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
Cauldron is actively drilling at Manyingee North and plans to test additional targets identified through passive seismic surveying in the coming months. The company’s systematic approach combines regional airborne electromagnetic surveys to locate palaeochannels, followed by passive seismic to refine channel margins, leading into targeted air-core drilling campaigns.
Expanding Uranium Potential Beyond Known Deposits
The passive seismic survey has also unveiled previously unknown and untested palaeochannels within the Yanrey Project’s complex palaeodrainage system. With five known sandstone-hosted palaeochannel uranium deposits along a 22-kilometre stretch of palaeo-coastline, the discovery of large extensions to Manyingee South’s palaeochannel and other channels further broadens the exploration scope.
Historical drilling and recent discoveries at Cosgrove and Spinifex Well prospects indicate widespread uranium mineralisation potential throughout the Yanrey province. Cauldron’s ongoing exploration efforts, supported by a Western Australian government EIS geophysics co-funding grant, aim to unlock this potential systematically.
