Broad Porphyry Mineralisation Validated by Drilling

Godolphin Resources Limited (ASX:GRL) has received compelling assay results from its Goodrich copper-gold project in New South Wales, confirming the presence of a significant porphyry-style mineralised system. Joint venture partner Great Plains Metals Corporation reported a standout intercept in drill hole GGDD004, which returned 136.55 metres at 0.32% copper, 0.16 grams per tonne gold, and 43 grams per tonne molybdenum from a shallow depth of 81.45 metres. This broad zone includes a high-grade segment of 3.55 metres grading 2.8% copper, underscoring the potential scale and grade variability within the system.

The mineralisation is hosted within a monzonite porphyry stock and features unidirectional solidification textures (UST), typically associated with the upper portions of fertile porphyry copper-gold systems. The near-surface nature of the intercept adds to the project's attractiveness, suggesting potential for bulk-tonnage development.

Joint Venture Structure Enhances Exploration Upside

Great Plains Metals has satisfied the initial earn-in conditions to secure a 51% interest in the Yeoval and Goodrich projects and is progressing to the next phase, aiming to increase its stake to 70% by investing an additional A$1 million in exploration over the coming year. Godolphin retains a 49% interest and benefits from this arrangement by avoiding direct exploration expenditure during the earn-in phases, effectively gaining leveraged exposure to the emerging copper-gold system without immediate capital outlay.

Managing Director Jeneta Owens highlighted the significance of the results, stating that the broad mineralised intercept validates the exploration model and the potential scale of the system. She also noted that ongoing reviews of historical drilling and unassayed core samples will inform the next phase of exploration, which is planned to commence in late 2026.

Additional Drill Results and Historical Core Review

Another drill hole, GGDD003, intersected 52.97 metres at 0.20% copper and 42.9 grams per tonne molybdenum from 29.15 metres, including a higher-grade 4.75-metre zone with 0.56% copper and 404 grams per tonne molybdenum. This hole targeted the inner propylitic halo of the porphyry system and encountered faulting that limited mineralisation below 82 metres.

A review of historical drill core archived at the NSW Mines Department has identified substantial altered intervals that were previously unsampled. Over 300 samples from this core have been submitted for assay, with results expected to refine the regional porphyry model and potentially expand the known footprint of mineralisation.

Geological Setting Supports Porphyry Potential

The Goodrich Project lies within the Yeoval Batholith, a complex of Early Devonian intrusive rocks analogous in geochemical signature to the Macquarie Arc that hosts major porphyry copper-gold deposits such as Cadia and Northparkes. The presence of monzonite porphyry with associated chalcopyrite, pyrite, and molybdenite mineralisation, along with alteration minerals like white mica and chlorite, confirms the project's alignment with fertile porphyry systems in the Lachlan Fold Belt.

Godolphin's strategic partnership with Great Plains Metals allows for focused exploration on this prospective terrain while managing capital risk. The upcoming drilling campaign and assay results from historical cores will be pivotal in delineating the size and grade continuity of the Goodrich system.
