Adisyn Ltd (ASX:AI1) has taken a significant step in fortifying its intellectual property by securing allowance of its second US patent application, which targets graphene-coated three-dimensional surfaces with unique physical properties relevant to next-generation semiconductor interconnects. Unlike its earlier May 2026 patent that focused on the method of applying graphene coatings, this new allowance protects the end-product itself, regardless of how it is manufactured.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) granted the allowance for Application No. 18/835,836, jointly held with research partner 2D Generation Ltd, covering graphene coatings characterised by features such as a median copper grain size under 0.9 microns, reduced shorts and voids after exposure to high temperatures, and coatings free from nitrogen doping and metal catalyst contaminants. Notably, the claims extend to interconnects without diffusion barrier coatings, potentially freeing space as semiconductor devices continue to shrink.
