Titomic Advances Defense Manufacturing with Key Contracts and US Redomiciliation Progress

Manufacturing By Victor Sage 4 min read

Titomic Limited has delivered a major defense production article, secured significant aerospace and oil & gas contracts, and progressed its US redomiciliation, positioning for commercial scale-up in H2 2026.

  • Delivered critical defense production article under US prime contractor program
  • Secured AUD 1.2 million Lufthansa Technik contract for aerospace cold spray expansion
  • Achieved AS9100 certification and DNV qualification for oil & gas coatings
  • Progressed US redomiciliation with multi-year defense research agreement
  • Negotiating US$50 million non-dilutive funding to support growth

Breakthrough Defense Manufacturing Milestone

Titomic Limited (ASX:TTT) marked a significant advance in its defense manufacturing credentials by delivering a critical production article for testing under a leading US defense prime contractor’s Early Manufacturing Development (EMD) program. This component, produced using Titomic’s proprietary kinetic fusion cold spray technology, demonstrated manufacturing capabilities previously unattainable through conventional methods, potentially unlocking broader applications across future defense programs.

The successful delivery and testing underscore Titomic’s growing role as more than a technology provider, positioning it as a strategic manufacturing partner capable of rapid, high-performance production for mission-critical defense hardware.

Expanding Aerospace and Oil & Gas Footprint

Commercial traction continued with a contract valued at over AUD 1.2 million from Lufthansa Technik AG to expand cold spray capabilities at its Hamburg facility. This order builds on a five-year collaboration and reinforces Titomic’s foothold in global aerospace maintenance, supporting increased capacity with turnkey low-pressure cold spray systems.

Meanwhile, Titomic secured a Statement of Qualification from DNV validating its cold spray technology for in-field aluminum coatings in oil and gas applications. This independent endorsement confirms the technology’s effectiveness in corrosion protection under demanding conditions, paving the way for expanded adoption in critical energy infrastructure worldwide.

Manufacturing Capacity and Quality Certifications

Titomic’s Huntsville, Alabama facility reached a major operational milestone by achieving AS9100 certification, the aerospace and defense industry’s rigorous quality management standard. This certification validates the company’s manufacturing processes and risk controls, enhancing its ability to pursue production opportunities in highly regulated markets.

Facility commissioning is now complete, with expanded machining, metrology, and integrated production systems ready to support significantly higher manufacturing volumes. This infrastructure sets the stage for scaling commercial production in the second half of 2026.

Strategic US Redomiciliation and Defense Collaboration

Titomic advanced its planned redomiciliation from Australia to the United States by entering a Scheme Implementation Deed to establish a Delaware holding company. Subject to shareholder, court, and regulatory approvals, this move is expected to complete in H2 2026 and aims to deepen access to US defense programs and capital markets.

Complementing this, Titomic USA signed a multi-year Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with a US military research organisation. This collaboration focuses on advancing next-generation manufacturing, repair, and sustainment technologies aligned with Department of War priorities, reinforcing Titomic’s strategic integration within the US defense industrial base.

Leadership Strengthening and Strategic Partnerships

To bolster its global reach, Titomic established a European Strategic Advisory Group featuring senior military leaders from the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK, enhancing its engagement across European aerospace and defense markets.

In the US, former Lockheed Martin Vice President Doug Graham joined Titomic’s Strategic Advisory Group, bringing deep expertise in aerospace, missile systems, and space programs to support the company’s growth trajectory.

Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding with The Welding Institute (TWI) was signed to accelerate commercialization of Titomic’s cold spray technology. This partnership combines Titomic’s manufacturing capabilities with TWI’s materials science and certification expertise, aiming to fast-track industrial qualification across regulated sectors.

Financial Position and Funding Outlook

At quarter end, Titomic held AUD 14.3 million in cash, with customer receipts of AUD 1.5 million, impacted by timing delays in payments and contract milestones. Operating cash outflows rose to AUD 8.3 million as the company invested heavily in manufacturing capability, strategic inventory, and redomiciliation activities.

Looking ahead, Titomic is negotiating non-dilutive financing targeting US$50 million from the Export-Import Bank of the United States and the Office of Strategic Capital, with feedback expected in Q3 and Q4 2026 respectively. These funds aim to underpin the company’s transition from technology development to scaled manufacturing, with cash flow and EBITDA break-even anticipated in 2027.

Despite the near-term cash burn, the company reaffirmed expectations for growth in customer orders and receipts in the second half of 2026, driven by contract commencements and an expanding qualification pipeline.

Bottom Line?

Titomic’s Q2 progress lays a solid foundation for scaling US defense manufacturing, but execution of redomiciliation and funding deals will be critical to sustaining momentum.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will Titomic secure the targeted US$50 million non-dilutive funding on schedule to support growth?
  • How quickly can the company convert its expanding defense and aerospace qualification pipeline into recurring production contracts?
  • What impact will the US redomiciliation have on Titomic’s access to defense programs and investor appetite?
