Arrow Minerals has completed its Yarraloola Copper Project acquisition, secured a fresh three-year exploration permit for its Niagara Bauxite Project in Guinea, and bolstered its cash reserves with a $2.25 million placement.

  • Yarraloola Copper Project acquisition finalised with 80% stake
  • New three-year Industrial Exploration Permit granted for Niagara Bauxite Project
  • Completed detailed gravity survey and awarded government grant for geophysics at Yarraloola
  • Strong cash position of $3.36 million following $2.25 million capital raise
  • Exploration activities in Guinea remain suspended amid regulatory uncertainty

Yarraloola Acquisition Complete, Drilling Planned for Later in 2026

Arrow Minerals Limited (ASX:AMD) has crossed a significant milestone with the completion of its 80% acquisition of the Yarraloola Copper Project in Western Australia's Pilbara region, finalised in June 2026. The project, located 80km east of Onslow, boasts historical copper workings and newly identified gold mineralisation, presenting a compelling exploration opportunity after 50 years of limited systematic drilling.

Highly regarded geophysics consultants Newexco have delineated three key copper-gold targets, Fraser, Ava, and the Yarraloola Copper Mine area, based on integrated gravity and magnetic data. Arrow plans to drill these targets later this year, aiming to test for gold mineralisation within historic drilling zones that previously focused on copper. The company is also preparing supplementary ground geophysics and geochemical sampling to refine drill targeting.

Government Grant and Gravity Survey Boost Exploration

Supporting its exploration push, Arrow completed an extensive gravity survey over Yarraloola during the quarter, expanding on prior 2024 work. The survey, comprising 791 stations, aims to improve subsurface modelling and drill targeting. Additionally, Arrow secured a $25,500 Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) grant from the Western Australian government to co-fund induced polarisation and electromagnetic geophysics surveys. These surveys will cover a 400m by 400m grid over known mineralised areas, further underpinning the 2026 drilling campaign.

Niagara Bauxite Project Secures New Exploration Permit

In Guinea, Arrow was awarded a new three-year Industrial Exploration Permit for its Niagara Bauxite Project, following a government review of the previous permit. The permit covers the entire Niagara project area, which hosts a substantial Mineral Resource estimate of 185 million tonnes at 42.3% alumina and 2.7% silica. Arrow plans to advance the project through staged economic and environmental studies, with scoping study updates expected later in 2026.

Niagara benefits from strategic infrastructure proximity, including the national highway and potential access to the Trans-Guinean Railway, enhancing its development prospects. Fieldwork will resume following the grant of required environmental authorisations, focusing initially on baseline studies and targeted sampling for metallurgical characterisation.

Guinea Projects Remain Suspended Amid Regulatory Uncertainty

Despite progress at Niagara, exploration activities in Guinea remain suspended due to ongoing uncertainty surrounding the status of Arrow's Simandou North Iron Project permit. Media reports have suggested possible cancellation, but the company has yet to receive formal government confirmation. Arrow continues to engage with Guinean authorities and its government-owned equity partner Soguipami to clarify tenure status and explore further mineral opportunities.

Financial Position Strengthened by Capital Raising

Arrow closed the quarter with a strong cash balance of $3.36 million, bolstered by a $2.25 million placement completed in two tranches during the period. Exploration and evaluation expenditure for the quarter was modest at $0.2 million, reflecting the suspension of field activities in Guinea and the early-stage status of Yarraloola drilling preparations.

Managing Director David Flanagan highlighted the company's strategic focus on advancing Yarraloola drilling and progressing scoping studies at Niagara, while maintaining active dialogue with Guinea's government to resolve tenure matters. The company also continues to assess new exploration opportunities as part of its project generation strategy.

Bottom Line?

Arrow Minerals is positioning for a pivotal year with imminent drilling at Yarraloola and renewed exploration momentum at Niagara, though Guinea tenure uncertainties remain a critical watchpoint.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will Arrow secure formal clarity on the Simandou North permit to resume exploration activities?
  • How will the upcoming Yarraloola drilling results influence the project's valuation and development timeline?
  • What financing or partnership strategies will Arrow pursue to advance the capital-intensive Niagara Bauxite Project?
