Hamelin Gold Uncovers Multiple High-Grade Lodes and Reef-Style System at Day Dawn

Multiple High-Grade Lodes Confirmed at Aurora

Hamelin Gold Limited (ASX:HMG) has significantly advanced its understanding of the Day Dawn gold project with new high-grade drill results revealing two distinct lodes at the Aurora Prospect. The maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program has delineated an Upper Aurora Lode hosting the bulk of near-surface mineralisation, alongside a newly interpreted Lower Aurora Lode that remains open both up and down plunge. Key intercepts include 4 metres at 4.4 g/t gold from 47 metres and 2 metres at 12.4 g/t gold from 149 metres, underscoring the potential scale of this mineralised corridor.

Emergence of Reef-Style Mineralisation at Altus

Adding a new dimension to the Day Dawn system, assays from the nearby Altus Prospect have confirmed the presence of reef-style gold mineralisation, a discovery that was not anticipated at this early stage. Notable results such as 1 metre at 21.5 g/t gold and 1 metre at 8.9 g/t gold suggest a conformable reef system similar to that which hosts significant gold mineralisation at the nearby Telfer Gold-Copper Mine, located just 10 kilometres southeast. This reef-style mineralisation is considered a key exploration target that could dramatically increase the project's scale if further drilling confirms lateral and vertical continuity.

Geological Parallels to Telfer Gold Deposit

The geological setting at Day Dawn, within the Paterson Province’s Yeneena Basin, shows compelling similarities to the giant Telfer deposit. Hamelin’s Managing Director Peter Bewick highlighted that the multiple steeply dipping lodes at Aurora, combined with the reef-style mineralisation at Altus, point to a broader mineralised corridor that may represent the upper expression of an extensive gold system. This interpretation is supported by the presence of both non-conformable quartz-carbonate-sulphide veins and conformable reefs, which are characteristic of major Proterozoic sediment-hosted gold deposits in the region.

Next Phase of Drilling to Test Extensions and Depth

Building on these promising results, Hamelin is preparing to commence a follow-up RC drilling program of approximately 3,000 metres within two to three weeks. This phase will focus on expanding the Aurora and Altus mineralised systems, targeting lode repetitions and extensions beneath shallow cover. Concurrently, a downhole Televiewer survey will provide critical structural data to refine the geological model. Looking further ahead, a co-funded diamond drilling campaign is scheduled for September 2026 to test deeper targets within the Telfer Formation stratigraphy, where substantial sediment-hosted gold mineralisation is anticipated.

Exploration Upside and Strategic Positioning

Day Dawn covers roughly 20 square kilometres of highly prospective ground near one of Australia’s largest gold mines. The project benefits from a comprehensive reinterpretation of historical drilling data combined with Hamelin’s systematic exploration approach. With mineralisation remaining open and multiple untested targets identified, the project is positioned to evolve rapidly. The company's strategy to integrate near-surface feeder structures with deeper stratigraphic targets could unlock a significant new gold discovery in the Paterson Province.
