Joint Venture Brings Indigenous Authority and Mining Expertise Together

MLG Oz Limited (ASX:MLG) has taken a significant step in embedding Indigenous partnership into its core operations by forming a 50/50 incorporated joint venture with Marlinyu Ghoorlie Enterprises Pty Ltd, the commercial arm of the Marlinyu Ghoorlie Aboriginal Corporation. This new entity, Marlinyu Ghoorlie Enterprises MLG Oz Joint Venture Pty Ltd, will deliver mining and civil services across the Marlinyu Ghoorlie traditional lands in Western Australia.

The partnership is structured with equal board representation and MLG managing day-to-day operations, combining MLG's extensive mining services capabilities; including crushing, screening, bulk haulage, and site services; with the Marlinyu Ghoorlie People's recognized authority over their country. This collaboration is anchored in the Federal Court of Australia’s 2025 recognition of native title over the region, which spans Kalgoorlie, Kambalda, Southern Cross, and the eastern Wheatbelt, overlapping with MLG’s established operational footprint.

Strategic Platform for Sustainable Indigenous Economic Participation

Rather than a project-specific arrangement, the joint venture aims to be a long-term platform that fosters Indigenous employment, training, and local procurement opportunities. The structure is designed to build lasting commercial capacity within the Marlinyu Ghoorlie community, ensuring benefits extend beyond individual contracts.

Immediate Work Pipeline and Regional Synergies

The joint venture is ready to tender and deliver work immediately, leveraging MLG’s existing plant, personnel, and accreditations. It covers the full spectrum of MLG’s services, including civil construction, crushing and screening, bulk haulage, and supply of open pit mining and construction materials from regional quarries.

Both partners are based in Kalgoorlie, reinforcing local decision-making and delivery. This regional focus positions the joint venture as a preferred partner for clients operating on Marlinyu Ghoorlie country, where Indigenous participation and social licence increasingly influence project approvals and procurement.

This move complements MLG’s growing portfolio of contracts across Western Australia, following recent major wins such as the A$70 million Pioneer Dome lithium contract and the $200 million Newmont Tanami extension, reinforcing its foothold in the region’s mining services market.
