Drilling Confirms High-Grade Mineralisation Beyond Current Resource

Sun Silver Limited (ASX:SS1) has reported exceptional assay results from its 2026 drilling campaign at the Maverick Silver Project in Nevada, with two key holes, MR26-240 and MR25-233, each intersecting over 100 metres of mineralisation. Notably, MR26-240 delivered an 8.3-metre zone grading 170 g/t silver equivalent (AgEq), including a 4.5-metre intercept at an extraordinary 301 g/t AgEq, outside the boundaries of the existing Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE). These results reinforce the company’s geological model and highlight significant upside potential along the northwest structural corridor.

Robust Silver, Gold, and Antimony Grades Support Resource Growth

Both drill holes returned multiple high-grade intervals. MR25-233 featured a 27.9-metre intercept at 70 g/t AgEq and a longer 53.3-metre zone at 51 g/t AgEq, while MR26-240 included standout zones of 28.2 metres at 80 g/t AgEq and 16.2 metres at 88 g/t AgEq. Alongside silver and gold, the drilling confirmed consistent antimony mineralisation, with assays up to 3.79% Sb over 0.25 metres and broader zones averaging above 0.1% Sb. This multi-element profile adds complexity and potential value to the deposit, which remains open at depth and along strike.

2026 Program Targets Resource Upgrade and Development Milestones

The current drilling campaign is strategically designed to upgrade the resource classification from JORC Inferred to Indicated through infill drilling, advance metallurgical testwork, and extend mineralisation along open extensions. Sun Silver’s Managing Director, Andrew Dornan, emphasised that the results “validate our geological model and demonstrate the project’s significant growth potential.” The company plans to progress a Scoping Study by late 2026 or early 2027, followed by a Pre-Feasibility Study in 2027, contingent on drilling and technical outcomes.

Maverick Silver Project Positioned in Top-Tier Mining Jurisdiction

Located 85 kilometres from Elko, Nevada, the Maverick Silver Project sits in one of the world’s most favourable mining jurisdictions, ranked number one by the Fraser Institute in 2022. The project hosts a substantial JORC Inferred Mineral Resource of 237 million tonnes grading 45.5 g/t silver and 0.30 g/t gold, equating to 347 million ounces of silver and 2.25 million ounces of gold. The deposit’s open nature and proximity to major operations like Barrick’s Carlin Mine add strategic appeal.

Sun Silver’s ongoing work includes continued infill and step-out drilling to test shallow antimony, silver, and gold targets, with a particular focus on the northwest hinge zone.
