Torque Metals Uncovers New High-Grade Gold Zones at Paris Project

Mining By Maxwell Dee 3 min read

Torque Metals has hit fresh high-grade gold mineralisation outside existing resource boundaries at its Paris Gold Project in WA, signalling strong potential for resource growth.

  • High-grade gold intercepts beyond current MRE at Observation and HHH
  • Deepest diamond drilling intercept at Observation hits 29.97g/t Au
  • New DHEM conductor at HHH offers compelling drill target
  • RPM Strategy boosts exploration efficiency and discovery pipeline
  • Paris Gold Project MRE totals 351,000 ounces at 3.1g/t Au

New High-Grade Zones Extend Paris Gold Limits

Torque Metals (ASX:TOR) has struck new high-grade gold mineralisation outside the current Mineral Resource Estimates (MRE) at its Paris Gold Project in Western Australia. The first extensional diamond drill hole at the Observation deposit returned 2.7 metres at 5.20 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, including a standout 0.4 metres at 29.97 g/t Au, the deepest intercept recorded at Observation to date. Meanwhile, drilling at the HHH deposit revealed a 1.0 metre intercept grading 20.90 g/t Au, including 0.6 metres at 33.76 g/t Au, extending mineralisation roughly 70 metres below the existing resource boundary.

Down-Hole Electromagnetic Survey Unlocks New Targets

Adding to the excitement, a down-hole electromagnetic (DHEM) survey identified a new conductor plate beneath the recent high-grade intercept at HHH. Given Torque’s historical success, over 90% correlation between DHEM plates and gold mineralisation, this conductor represents a compelling target for follow-up drilling. The company is actively planning further drill programs to test this and other promising zones, aiming to expand the footprint of known mineralisation well beyond current resource boundaries.

RPM Strategy Accelerates Growth and Efficiency

These results mark the first tangible outcomes from Torque’s recently launched Rapid Path to one Million ounces (RPM) Strategy, which seeks to fast-track discovery and resource growth across the South Kalgoorlie Gold Camp. The new management team has already improved drilling efficiency and reduced costs per metre, enabling more extensive exploration within existing budgets. Heritage surveys are underway to unlock previously unexplored areas, with prospects such as Maynards Dam, Strauss West, Marmaracs, Lady Doris, and St Ives East slated for drilling later this year.

Paris Gold Project Holds 351,000 Ounces at 3.1 g/t

The Paris Gold Project’s global MRE currently stands at 351,000 ounces at 3.1 g/t Au, spread across three deposits: Paris, HHH, and Observation. The new drill results at Observation and HHH, both outside existing resource boundaries, suggest meaningful upside potential. The Paris deposit itself recently returned encouraging results testing a potential third lode structure (PL3), with intercepts indicating additional complexity and mineralisation depth. Torque’s ongoing systematic drilling is designed to refine geological models and expand resource confidence across the camp.

Exploration History and Geological Setting

Situated within a ~350 square kilometre greenstone belt in the Tier-1 South Kalgoorlie mining district, the Paris Gold Project benefits from a well-understood geological setting. Mineralisation occurs primarily in structurally controlled lodes within mafic and ultramafic rocks, with a strong association to quartz-carbonate veins and sulphide mineralisation. Historical exploration by major players like WMC and Gold Fields laid the groundwork, but recent drilling and geophysical surveys have significantly advanced understanding and resource growth potential.

Torque’s CEO Craig Jones highlighted the significance of these discoveries: “These exciting new high-grade zones represent an outstanding start to the next phase of resource growth. The structural similarities between Observation and Paris, along with the new DHEM conductor at HHH, reinforce our confidence in unlocking further value across the Paris Gold Camp.”

Bottom Line?

Torque’s early drilling success outside current resource limits sets the stage for a potentially transformative expansion of the Paris Gold Project’s high-grade footprint.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will upcoming drilling at new DHEM targets impact the Paris Gold Project’s resource base?
  • What is the timeline for updated Mineral Resource Estimates incorporating these new intercepts?
  • Can Torque’s RPM Strategy sustain its momentum to approach the aspirational one million ounce target?
