Waratah Minerals (ASX:WTM) has taken a substantial step forward in its Spur Gold and Copper Project with fresh reverse circulation (RC) drilling results from the Alpine and Gazzards prospects. These results reveal a continuous, district-scale mineralised gold corridor stretching 6 kilometres along the northern margin of the Cargo Intrusive Complex in New South Wales, effectively linking these zones with the already active Spur and Consols prospects to the south.
The company reported multiple shallow gold intercepts, including 10 metres at 2.46 g/t Au from 76 metres at Alpine and a standout near-surface intercept of 15 metres at 1.16 g/t Au from 11 metres at Gazzards. Notably, high-grade zones were also encountered deeper, such as 8 metres at 3.54 g/t Au from 120 metres and 17 metres at 1.36 g/t Au from 96 metres in the Gazzards area. Complementing the drilling results, Waratah completed a regional soil sampling program with over 1,000 samples collected on grids ranging from 100x100m to 200x200m. The geochemistry reveals classic porphyry zonation with copper-molybdenum cores surrounded by proximal gold-bismuth-tellurium-antimony halos and distal manganese-lead-zinc enrichment. This geochemical signature aligns well with the mineralisation at Spur and Consols, providing a valuable exploration vector.
Additionally, detailed ground magnetic and gravity surveys over the same area have mapped structurally complex zones with strong magnetite alteration, further refining target areas for follow-up drilling.

Waratah is now planning diamond drilling to follow up these encouraging RC results, with permitting underway and drilling expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026.
