Somerset Minerals Limited (ASX:SMM) has kicked off its maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the Talisker copper target within its flagship Coppermine Project in Canada with striking results. The first two holes, TARC0003 and TARC0008, both intercepted thick zones of high-grade copper-silver mineralisation beneath a thin glacial cover, confirming a new, largely blind copper discovery.
TARC0003 returned 36.6 metres at 1.62% copper and 11.8 grams per tonne silver from 22.9 metres, including a standout 9.1 metres at 4.39% copper and 28.8 grams per tonne silver. Meanwhile, TARC0008 intersected a broader mineralised envelope of approximately 79 metres, including 38.1 metres at 1.27% copper and 7.4 grams per tonne silver from 41.15 metres, with peak assays hitting 6.32% copper and 42.7 grams per tonne silver over 3.05 metres. The company is now focused on integrating the drilling results with detailed geological logging, multi-element geochemistry, and pending laboratory assays from a 641-sample infill soil program to refine the geometry of the mineralisation and prioritise future drill targets along the corridor.
